Well, I just did a refresh of the homepage and the view count did not go up. I clicked the link and the view count did not go up. I did a full refresh of the various pages and the view count did not go up so I don't think we can trust that number right now. Couldn't tell you why.

Yes, although I was unimpressed to discover you had turned commenting off. I guess, to a certain extent, that was the overall message of the post - i.e. you don't get to comment on it. But still.

I agree with Dave. Is there nothing more positive than a reminder of the police state to put on the front page? And the "project hope foundation" ride has been and gone.

Most people probably have a favourite linked to the forums and use the remember password feature. That way you never see the homepage unless you click on home....

I only saw it cause i was on a computer i hadn't logged in with before. And I do feel very told off.....

I scan the RSS feeds first, and from that point on just use "New Posts". Cant see the point in going to the home page, it's just "in the way" when trying to get to the good stuff.

Have used KB spy once or twice, but prefer New Posts. Dunno why, just personal preference.

For the record, I too hadn't seen that message until BD posted this thread.

One of the reasons commenting was turned off was due to the amount of abuse and shit being posted on the forum, we didn't want the thread turning into another shit fight. Never did we say this wasn't to be discussed or commented on, in fact it says we appreciate feedback, after all it is the members who help make the site what it is. However it is the senior mod's who decide how things run here after SpankMe's announcement.

If you use the 'New Posts' button you would have seen it after it was posted.

If I was online when it was posted. I don't tend to go back too far into older posts, normally no further than the first page of results. By then I'm getting bored and ready to move onto something else.

Yeah, well I've been lucky to have never been caught in the crossfire or even really noticed it going on ... other than people being sin-binned, Winja disappearing completely and the appearance of infractions and grief like that which is on the front page. I do "get it", but think that turning comments off for something of that level of importance maybe sent the wrong message.

I always start at Homepage and then click on new posts and I think I saw this one when it was first posted and have noticed on the Homepage since but never actually read it again.

As I'm not the sort that gets upsets or whines loudly it was of little direct interest to me.
    Cheers

    Merv

I always go to the home page! That is generally where I go to look at what new posts have been made, I tried doing the kbspy thing but it got confusing!
So yeah, I read that message like the day it was on there!! But didn't click the link (so wouldnt have added to the view count) as I didn't need to and there were no posts in the thread
I'm gonna make it so PC
