For road riding i like to have a funky one. For racing I just get the cheapest shoei I can lay my hands on. Plain is normally that one, so just go for blue or black.

When you're after a lid, get the one that fits the best, then the one that looks the best ... in that order. If I must have a replica, it would be the one that looked the best, unless I thought that the rider concerned was a cunt.

The 3rd one looks good, although the retro 4th one is equally so

...my favourite at the moment though:

    Flat white with Gold

I usually go for a cheap one.

Go the third, it looks nuts.

    Nice.

So, do you have to pay a premium for a replica graphic over say, a standard graphic?

Shit, what is that? Looks great.

My last Helmet purchase was chosen cause it was the nicest looking of all the cheap helmets. In fact I thought it was nicer looking than even the more expensive helmets. It fit fairly well of course but comfort and low wind noise are a luxury that I had to do without.

I suggest: if in doubt, go for the one with flames.

Once I got the right shape helmet, got the right size. I looked through the designs. Chose the "patriot" design. Go England!

I like that not many people have it.. and just luv the design.

My helmet is my avatar. Its called Paranoia... bit like me really. I chose it because it stands out (safety reasons) and its a little different, and I just liked the graphics on it. Good Luck finding your helmet Kelly

BTW I quite like the third one... flames!!!
And Nice helmet Trudes... cant wait to see it in person, looks cool.

Apart from the shit helmets I had in the "old days", I've chosen only two based on graphics. One was when I bought my VF500, and the dealer gave me a discount on helmet and boots. The AGV he had in my size was nice, but it didn't match the red/white/blue of the bike, so he got another from the importer in another colour scheme for me.
I replaced that with a black/silver/gold one when I had my black VFR (with gold and silver accents). That helmet was replaced with one bought secondhand, and it was just luck that being multicoloured (with some red in it) it went OK with the red FahrtSturm, and the blue in it matched the blue in the VifFerraRi.
    Sort of.

I'll probably just get something blue-ish next, or maybe silverish.

The problem with doing the colour-matching thing is you can end up out of whack. I decided to buy some Spidi Pro-1 gloves in black/yellow/white to match my black VFR and black/silver/gold helmet, but they looked really crap when I got my red Teknic jacket, and even worse with the red bike.

Best bet is to stick with black, I guess.

I'd like a Rossi-replica helmet, but I've gone off AGVs. I love the features, but they don't fit my head shape very well.

Then there's the "Don't buy a $50 helmet unless you have a $50 head!" crapola (started, I believe, by Bell losing sales to cheaper brands). My head has been over-capitalised for years. If only I could find a helmet for $50....
