The reason the Filthy Few are no longer here is not because they made people "laugh". Indeed, at times their respective performances were tears-running-down-the-legs hysterical. Their absence is more to do with the fact that they were largely incapable of having a discussion without personalising it and then using the rep or PM systems to continue to abuse people away from the public gaze of the forums, and other disruptive crap.

I enjoy a good laugh as much as the next fellow, but observing a constant stream of highly personalised abuse from fuckwits trying to punch above their weight, is wearing. And the majority of our members don't come to this site for that sort of thing. The minority who do would be better to spend their time at www.arguingwithdickheads.com.

Has anybody noticed how, since their demise, fewer threads require consignment to Pointless Drivel?

Mostly The Dover was just uncouth, as my mother would say.
But not everyone is just uncouth and personal abuse by the rep or PM system is a nasty and underhanded way of attacking people.
