    Captain Kirk vs Luke Skywalker

I think Kirk would win. Even with the lightsaber, Luke is no match for the wiles and sheer character of Kirk. He's unkillable.
    Kirk vs Darth Vader...? Kirk
    Kirk vs Picard? Kirk.
    Kirk vs Spock? Hmmm... Kirk?

Who could kill Kirk? In my opinion, no force in the universe could stop a righteously angry Kirk pushed into a corner.

The labour party could. No contest. Tie him up in red tape then bleed him dry.

No, see, Starfleet already tried that, they made him an Admiral, gave someone else the Enterprise, stuck him behind a desk. But he took advantage of a looming interstellar cloud, rode to the rescue, got demoted back to the captain's seat, and there he is again.

If Labour tried to do something like that I'd bet the Earth would be menaced by aliens so Kirk had to go back in time and eradicate social inequality so Labour didn't need to exist in the first place, then he'd be free to battle the aliens (in a cunning manner) and save the earth (and the Enterprise).

but the more logical path would be shot first ask questions later... you know the song "we come in peace shoot to kill" then go back in time to ensure the marshmellows for the future and setup a business to make a bizillion gizillion dollars ...

oh wait wrong show never mind

Your duct tape collection is calling you... you've been away from it too long...

Heh, that's called "intertextuality": referring to the contents of a thread in a post in a different thread. Clever Cola.
And for your elucidation, I collect 1930s to 1960's Tilley Lamps, not duct tape.
I have quite a collection and consider myself among the top ten Lantern collectors in New Zealand.
