[QUOTE=Dooly;1070817]Nice ride, but that road sure felt like it had quite some more shingle all over it this time round.
Must of hit a few wrong bits in the road, got flung off the seat a few times and had a wicked tank slapper just before the bridge at Patangata.

It was a bit messy. When MSTRS pulled over to let us go at the intersection a few k's before the pub I took the lead. The second right hander had shingle on it and I was sure I was going to embarrass myself. I had set the corner and had the lean thing going by the time I realised it had shingle on it. I didn't have my good luck charm on the back this week. You might have to come back Stichchick to keep us safe.

A tank slapper aye. Um was that going down hill?? ???? There is a big groove in the road down that hill. It is a real trap for sure.

Yes, Yes, Yes I was following you round that corner in catch up mode, started to loose my back end sat it up and nearly lost it, running out of road. That time of the day it is hard to see the shit on the road with the shadows. But never the less it gets the adrenalin pumping. Kahuranaki Road was a nut cruncher with all the road ripples but I suppose that makes it interesting.

Best tank slap/rear end bounce ive seen for a while. Still you keeped it going in the forward direction. Maybe i should set the video camera up on the bike and i will follow you on that road again.

That looks really cool, Big G! Brings back memories eh?
Every ride we do is such a stunner...weather, roads, people....we are truly blest!
I just wish I could keep up with you lot, without having to be (on) the Wanton Hussy!

They are good rides for sure.
This riding group is so you and others can enjoy the ride. We came together so beginners could get out and ride. So with that in mind you get on your bike and turn up. You would have kept up on the first half of the ride yesterday. If people want to speed up on the way home that is good as long as someone stays with the beginners and make sure everyone knows how to get home. It is a bit tuff when you are in the back country and have no idea how to get back to the main road and the other bikes have disappeared in to the abyss. I know it has happened to me. We will have Chicky on the rides in a months time. So just turn up on the bike and we will sort it out. I recon it is good for the faster riders to go off and we slower riders meet them there.

    Stick to some rules.

Rule one. Nominate a sweeper. That person stays at the back till they get to the destination. Swap the sweeper to someone else for the ride home.

Rule two. The person who is riding second in line stops at the first intersection and directs the rest of the group. They know who the sweeper is and when the sweeper goes passed they can come along. Pass the sweeper so that person is still at the back. And so on for all intersections.

The sweeper will ride behind the slowest rider. That rider need not worry about holding them up cos they are there to help and it is their responsibility to look after the last rider. The sweeper should back off if the rider in front looks uncomfortable.

Simple. If the sweeper does not turn up in reasonable time to the intersection go back and look. If you see them coming turn around and go back to the intersection so the slower riders know where to go.

I don't want to spoil the rides with rules. Nor is it my place to ask for any. It just seems to make sense to me. We had problems on ANZAC day cos we didn't have a plan. But it was a great ride anyway.

I was going to give you green rep for that but it says you have enough. Well done G. I think I will print it and put it on the office wall to give me hope on the bad days

Yep I am happy to sweep. if I know it is my place to be I am happy to be there. I only try and catch the fast bikes at the front, from time to time, cos I feel I have to. The curse of the gixxer you understand.

Well it felt fine, felt violent, but at no stage did I feel in danger. Just kept the throttle in, and I've barely had any of those on any of my bikes so can't say i'm experienced at it.
Maybe its just the kudos Duc's get for their handling and suspension, I really dont know.
    Was kinda fun tho.....

Up hill near on max gas it probably lifted the front and when it touched down it wasn't straight. Scary but as you say fun. A steering dampener might be in order or less gas
