It's a Murkn thing. They really do do it. Big market for 'hunting' revolvers. Long barrels, scopes, seven, eight or even nine cylinders, the works. Those guns will put all their bullets into a reliable 2" circle at 50 yards if you do your part and point them straight.

If you check the site you'll see that it wasn't a .357 Magnum; it was a S&W Model 500, chambered for the '.500 S&W Magnum' cartridge, with a 10.5 inch barrel. That's getting into rifle territory in terms of muzzle energy. It's at the extreme upper end of handgun power.

Thank you for clearing that up. Now, where does one procure such a device? It seems like a "must have" for a moderator's tool kit...

Apparently the kid and his family filled the pig up on beer and got it drunk before they 'hunted it', (only way the kid didn't get dead I think) there is supposedly some video footage of this floating around the internet currently, off to search for it now.
Footage found, its not the pig that was shot. The hunt took place on a commercial hunting park in Alabama, and it is not the only one of this size. Hogzilla was also shot a while back but was smaller than this one, and NatGeo have done a story on the pigs unusual DNA, which they sampled when they dug up the original Hogzilla remains. Stories are continuing on the existence of this new kind of 'giant pig' with DNA from wild boars, more sightings reported in the area of similar size.
I wonder if the park owners have dabbled into some genetic engineering to bring in business???

A friend of mine has two handguns similar. One chambered for the .500 S & W and the other for the 45-70., both are 5 shot and both are real fun to use. AN 11 year old using a .500 he must have wrists twice the size of all the other kids.

Apart from a very wicked recoil the pistol weighs a bloody ton.

There was a piece in the Weekend Herald, Sunday Star Times or like, on the weekend just gone... said it was a hand reared pig, got huge, but was basically a pet, and was given to the farmers to live the good life on a farm... was released into this kids fenced paddocks where he "hunted" it down...

    Yeah great story......

It was a wet and wild day ( 3 clouds in the sky) and we walked for hours to get in to the the pigs territory ( they paid there money and walked a few feet from the carpark) after hours of stalking ( guide "look there is the pig over there") I carefully aimed and hit the beast ( 8 wild shots somewhere in to the torso) and no time was I scared ( as the guides were around me with high powered rifles to actually shoot the thing properly)
