SO! Even the dream job involves grovelling for the money.
Bugger, what a let down![]()
"Not one day that we are here on this earth has been promised to us, so make the most of every day as if it was your last, and every breath ,as if it were the same"
So did I make the finals, oh esteemed judge??![]()
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
Doh - I saved them only as numbers.
Finalists will have to claim and caption them when listed.
Later today - but I'll consider more till midnight.
News too.
Motomail and I will sponsor a prize for the voted winner.
$50 open order.
Thanks Chris and Hippie.
This is an art contest where nobody set any rules - so I’m using the judgement/eye I would apply in selecting content for Kiwi Rider Magazine for nominating these finalists.
Discounting resolution - These shots I would choose to run in mag. In explaining why I chose them it might shine some light on why others missed the cut.
I have reduced each of the shots to a max of 800px and saved at 8 quality for this display.
FINALIST 1
Easy choice this one.
Drama from a shot of a static twofiddy.
Colour, balance and clarity.
FINALIST 2
Epic. Like the other landscape shot selected – the photog has lowered the camera to bring the bike into the scene. Many of the other ‘epics’ have been taken at full height and the bike is like a footnote to the scene.
Colour contrast clarity balance – could do with some cropping.
FINALIST 3
They might be clever and resourceful but they obviously have NO sense of smell.
A 1000 word-er.
FINALIST 4
That’s just beautiful. Made me feel warm. I can smell the smoke and hear the bullshit from here.
FINALIST 5
The type of shot I aspire to. The bike in great clarity as all about rushes by.
Nice colour, feel the action.
FINALIST 6
Bon Jovi film clip. Nuff said. That’s art baby – right there.
FINALIST 7
There comes a time in a young man’s life…I was there, I know part of this person well from that one shot. Quality not that flash, content compensates.
FINALIST 8
Stunning. Timeless. Composition, content, colours. The machine.
FINALIST 9
Any time you have a chance to make the sun shine out of something’s…..take it.
The lol-er.
FINALIST 10
Balance, clarity, colour, frame, scene, composition.
The bike has been made part of the scene, and the quality of the image is outstanding.
-------------------
There are many noteworth shots that missed out for various reasons - similar to others shots - colour balance or a date stamp, position of the sun and the bikes in shadow - or the rubbish bin.
I looked at all. These are the magazine shots.
Your turn to judge.
Someone sets up a poll with a closing date - Motomail are giving the winner a $50 gift voucher which I will PM the validation code to the winner.
The are numbered - owners should identify and caption if desired.
david.
BTW - I will still consider submissions till midnight.
I was the lucky pillion, however no damage done to Jim (rider) me or the truly indestructable GS.
We went all over the place on that trip - Molesworth, Rainbow... 2 up with all the camping gear, loaded up to the gunnels.
Long stretches both on and off the tarmac in perfect comfort. The reason you have a bike like this.
And yes, he was standing there deciding just how WE were going to pick it up. Got going again no problems and carried on with the holiday without any further spills.
Next off however - the Mangatapu again, on the Dusty Butt 1000, only this time we came close to falling off a bridge.
Why do it? - cos you can!
