Is it Gixxer or Jixxer??? How do you say it???

i have always said gixxer like in gay or gimp. but then that the only way i have ever heard it pronounced.

jixxer sounds a bit poofy to me

I've seen it written many times ("gixxer") and heard a couple of variations of saying it. I found a trans atlantic dissagreement over the correct way of pronouncing it on the web, but nothing here to satisfy my (only mild) curiosity. Never owned one - doubt if I would fit on one anyway..

So what's it to be folks - "Gickser" with a "hard" G, or "Jixxer" with a softie?
