Well, the trip was fine, we got here. The two of us are at Nasty's place in Whitby as I type this. Good trip up to Welly though overall. IL4 surprised himself and did most of the driving, I only took over when he got to the point where he felt too uncomfortable, and we needed to push on to make the ferry... which we did, not much time to spare though! Met a few of the Welly crew this evening (what were you doing so quiet Mrs Kendog?! Was looking forward to meeting and chatting with you but I didn't know who you were until you were leaving! And even then only because I made the effort to find out! I feel so unloved... ), hope to meet a few more tomorrow morning! And some bikes to drool over... mmm... wish I could pinch them for a ride... Our time is short though, sadly.. but such was the welcome and banter I'll be happy to come up again and spend some more time up here. You guys rock! Esp Nasty & Grub for putting us up, beating AJ Turbo to it

Nigel ya big girl, it's just a strain...

Sorry Dev Esq, I'm a bit shy, and terrible at introducing myself, maybe I'm just used to Colapop being around to take me by the hand and introduce me to people. Nevermind, you get to fondle my bike when I get back out there to see you two off shortly, 'cause I you really!

    After this morning's effort;
    a) Mrs KD is not shy
    b) her bike has been fondled, ridden and manhandled (by me)
    c) she's not gonna need to see a chiropractor for awhile... or is that she will need to see one...?
    d) That punk Inline4 will be cuddled again... he's so resistant to man-love!!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

    we will remember them

What a blast ... 10 for dinner, 20 for breakfast and they'e all off for a (very) cold ride.

Plans will surely change but as they left here at 0940 the intention seemed like SH1, split off at some point from Inline4 & Deviant to head to Saddle Rd or Paihiatua Track and back via SH2.

It is bloddy cold, so it'll be interesting to see if they get past P'ram

Great fun guys n gals, must do it again when i can join you

I didn't make it past Shell Mana, went round Grey's road, the inlet then home, frozen!! Although IL4 offered to biff the crap in the back of his car out so he could take me home..... after I said I wouldn't fit on his or Dev Esq's knees (now I know what the Deviant bit is all about)

    You guys are too much!

Nice to meet you today IL4 and Deviant Esq.

And thanks to Nasty and Grub, of course, for their hospitality.

Boy am I glad we were in the nice warm car this morning...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Definitely agree there, Riffer.
Thanks heaps to Grub and Nasty. The breakfast was awesome, and she makes great coffee !!

Nice to meet IL4 and see D/Esq again. Also good to see the usual "bunch of arrogant winkers"... (Whoever said we're that needs their head(s) read)

Remind me not to give the Guzzi to Colapop for some driveway racing !!

she was hiding behind everyone on the couch... i too thought she was being a "bit quiet"... but then she did have her man at home all injured, needing help to get around, i really think she was trying to work out how to get IL4 out of the chair and get it home, so that her man, with his paper-cut fingure TIP, could get around more easily!!!

    hahahahahhahahahahaha

    what a ride so far!!!!

    Escorted Out Of Town

Thanks for a hearty breakfast Brett and Kari, we were quite full and didn't need to stop for coffee too early at all.

From Paraparaumu Sels1, KoroJ, and I, escorted IL4 and Deviant up SH1. We stopped just before the Shannon turn off and bid IL4 and Deviant farewell then headed over the Pahiatua Track. Continued our ride right back through to Carterton for a bite to eat at the Wild Oats and home by 3pm.

Well here is an interesting item: from my place to Castlepoint and back is 300km and the ride up SH1 and across the Pahiatua Track and back down SH2 was 310km.

    What did I practise?
Well both the Castlepoint and Pahiatua Track rides have been my longest so far. Today riding with Sels and KoroJ was very enjoyable and doing the Pahiatua Track for the first time. Practise - hazard detection, three key items today:
    1. Wind conditions briefly after we left SH1 heading out to Shannon

    2. Top of Pahiatua Track stock being moved, ah hum say no more.

    3. Riding my own ride. Sels1 and KoroJ have been in the saddle longer than I have and this was a good ride for me. Self Discipline was an important personal key.

Thanks guys for your patience and taking me over the track today.

    Here are some pics:

    Heads Up and Enjoy
