Also how do I check the spark plugs for sprk without the engine actualy firing? Simple as unpluging all the leads?
Hold the thread part of the plug against someything metal on the bike and turn her over. Should have a meaty blue spark.

Never done that before. How to I keep the other cylinders from firing?

Thought so. Just wanted to make sure. Would suck to blow up my bike just when I got it back.

Waylander's got a suspected missing cylinder, most likely spark plug related, and wants to find out which one it is. On cars I would get her running then pull and replace each plug cap in turn until I find what one makes no difference to the running and there's the faulty one.

It's difficult to do that on the bike due to their position, so can he discon all plugs, then one at a time take a plug out, reconnct it to the HT lead and hold it against the head to check them sequentially? Will it harm the bike (I wouldn't think so)?

Off to do my hair and look pretty.
See y'all at Barkes Corner at 9:30
Except that the rear hearders are inacessable and the front headers are dual piped (the outside pipe is just for show) Could put my hand on those after the party last night. Some warmth but couldn't tell if they were firing or not. I do think it is the right rear cylinder. But my fucking socket is stuck now and I can't get the damn thing out to get the plug out....

Get another spark plug ( any one will do ) and just take the cap off one of the bike plugs and put the other spark plug in it and rest it against the frame and just turn make it turn over.. you can unplug all the plugs so the bike doesnt fire if you want

Thnks Matt for the help with the bike this morning aswell as the lift to the pub.

THnks Ian for the ride back. Uh, was one of those frighteningly fun experiances. A bit like a roller coaster at twice the speed. THat beast of yours can boogie.

Jim mate thanks for the help getting the bike home. Pulling the air box off at the moment (yup gonna be another late nigh...) to see if I can get to the front coils to check them and see how hard they are to replace if need be.
If it's not to hard then I'll just get the part and do it myself, otherwise bcak to Strada it goes and I don't get it back till it runs perfectly again.

For those that don't know, the right front cylinder is the one that wasn't firing. THought I might be able to make it over to the pub and back but because of the cyclindernot firing I had to keep the revs way up for less thn half the power it usually has so burned all the gas (except for the amount that was just being puhed outthe pipes. Smell good aya Matt? lol)
Just before the turn off to the pub.

What makes you think it's the coil? Usually if a coil is about to die they still work for a little while until they get warm ( takes a few minutes or something ) then the cylinder starts to miss. Could be a faultly connection? Do you actually have no spark at all on that cylinder?
