Scary how bad your eyes were, innit?

If you are a candidate for laser surgery, consider it. Best $5K I ever spent.

So right. i have had both eyes dealt to in recent years and the morning after the first op...i couldnt beleive the clearity... ..the colours how hairy my arms were (they arent, just seemed that way) I had given up driving/reading... use to sit and watch TV at night with a cap on to keep the light off my eyes (strange but true) my vision was 6/60.. translated means that, what you can see at 60mts, i would have to be at 6mts to see the same thing clearly...$3k an eye...now i can see one line better than 20/20 vision on the eye chart....

Glasses are good - but why are they so F*ckin expensive here? Guy at work got his prescription and frame model number from local optometrist, went back to Indonesia - got identical frame and prescription lenses for $NZ45. Another one did the same with 'scrip only installed into his original frames in Vietnam - equivalent of $NZ25 (several million Vietnamese Dong) - So which is the third world country?
I need new specs and the old frames are pretty shagged - so here I'm looking at $600 - $700? WHY
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

I wore contacts for years, and glasses also, my thoughts:
Contacts worn for too long (per day) damage your eyes long term
Glasses are a pain in the ass. Cleaning, fogging up, etc
Contacts are also a pain in the ass. Cleaning, moving around, etc
Waking up and being able to see; fantastic.

Overall, apart from not having $5K to spend on a bike, I have not for one minute regretted getting LASIK.

Admittedly, if your eyes aren't too bad, it may be easier to have glasses. Mine were -4.5 and -5, so I was pretty blind.

Fair enough, mine are -3.5 (and getting slightly better - 35yrs old). Mine are bad enough. Bad enough that I can only just read a bike magazine OK in bed at night.

Anyway...yeah, glasses expensive. Still remember getting mine at age 15 and being amazed at how dirty everything was.

I was told what they are but it went in one ear and out there other... me better half prefers wearing contacts she gets a new set every month or so. its an on going cost, (can't afford the long lasting ones...)

they are really expensive here.. and mine need to be fixed.. they're a bit wobbly fropm being hit off my face a couple of times... by myself... lol.. funny thing that.. i tend to wave my hands in weird ways.. and whoops!, they're across the room...

Look good, but why do you need those muffs to hold them on with...? You should be able to bend the arms so they hook over your ears...
