    I love polishing my helmet

I just love rubbing and polishing my helmet, it's so satisfying.
Plexus on the visor, rub on then off, repeat.
Nikwax visor-clear on the outside, rub on then off.
Cat crap on the inside, rub on then off.
Oh joy, clean, no fog, no rain streaks, it's very satisfying.

It's one of those jobs that is soothing and enjoyable, sitting inside by the heater in the evening. I wish I had several helmets so it would last longer.

What thing about maintaining your bike or gear do you find enjoyable?

Can I bring mine around and you can rub my helmet too? That would sound worse if I was a guy!
I enjoy clenaing my boots, I was told not to Dubbin then, so that has taken some of the pleasure out of it, but still enjoy them looking clean even with just warm water.

Hmm I wash my visor before every ride, but not the whole helmet.

What is that you use to stop fogging up? Since winter and wearing more clothes (or breathing harder?) I fog up occasionally.

Cat Crap, $9 in a tiny red container, it works quite well, not as well as an fog-proof insert thought. Available from most bike shops here in Welly.

Me too! I like dubbin night. We do it as a flat, we're all trampers and outdoorsy types so we go through a lot of dubbin / snoseal.

Get yourself a breath deflector. My HJC CL-SP has the little strip of velcro already in the mouthguard to fit one, so it's a 5 second job.

Mind you it does take a bit of getting used to at first. Now that I have it's bliss. With a tube scarf you even have keep your mouth and nose warm. No misting, and you can lock your visor shut as soon as you want. Fantastic on a cold, miserable day.

Besides all those Superbike, and MotoGP chaps can't be wrong.

Plexus or Nikwax for the visor... which one? I want to keep my new Shark RSF2i nice and shiny... what do I use?

Cleaning the stainless muffler heat-guards on the Hornet with Al polish. Also cleaning the tank and getting some polish on it is always quite satisfying.

Hand sanding and hand polishing with some hand buffing of some RD350 sidecovers has been my last glory task of late.. They look pretty on the wall and they arent finished yet. Also attacking the engine of the FZ with a bit of sand n polish. Dont have a power point where the bike is so alot of the time its by hand.

While we are on the topic, what exactly is an anti-fog insert?

And what exactly is a pin lock visor?

Antifog insert - goes on the inside of the helmut visor and stops fog by adding a layer with an air pocket (and other goodies).
This means that there is 2 layers and 3 areas to adjust for temp.
Think of it working like a chilly bin. Inside cold beer --> plastic layer ---> polysterene / air pocket ---> plastic layer --> Outside sunny day.
Cept its the outher way round as its cold outside, and your breath is hot inside.
Where the 2 meet on your visor......fog on visor.
Add a few more spaces/layers..... no fog
