Sounds like it was a bit of an adventure ride, did you go with some guys from Welly or were they local KB's, cos I think I might have upset someone's partner about the Moto GP.
Went for a blast on Sunday to Bayveiw and up the Eskdale Road and back to Havelock it was good short ride but plenty of HWP's on the road, is it going to be a thing of the future.

Gixxer, Tart, Mstrs and I went for ride yesterday too. Gixxer as lead and Tart gossiping on the back of his bike and Mstrs at the back of me. I tell ya I was nervous as about jumping on Tarts EL from the farm bike that Gixxer has let me ride but what a great day. You three made my weekend really after a really crap week (I caused a major mistake). I look forward to getting out on the main road next weekend hopefully. Still alittle tired but its well worth it thats for sure. Never realised how draining riding can be. I really need to harden up I think. Hopefully next time there won't be any goats flying at me!!! Not nice for a noobie thats for sure, thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Stupid thing was the only thing that crossed my mind was...Stick you better control Tarts bike otherwise she is gonna kill ya

These three are the best to be taught to ride with , they may push your boundries alittle but they know whats best. All you do is take a deep breath and get on with it.

THANKS HEAPS GUYS!!!! If it wasn't for you I would still be transportless and now i see alight at the end of the tunnel!!!!

Hey Stick...we can help and give advice etc but you still gotta do the thing. And you were doing well. You have found out what most newbies suffer from...riding is mentally (and physically) draining until you have practised enough that the basics come automatically. The answer is to keep taking bites at it and spend time in the saddle. I reckon once you can do 100ks then you need to do a big trip. What you are doing right now tells me you are teachable - and believe me, it is a pleasure to watch someone doing what they are told!!!
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Hey G i came thru yr neck of the woods yesterday. Down middle road to patangata, over to Waipawa, over to Onga Onga, down HW50. Called in and saw Dooly. And off home. The weather was really mild down there and not a HP in sight. They must be keeping an eye on you

What MSTRS said. John and I have a very different way of teaching and I recon between us we get good middle ground. I have said it before and I will say it again. You are a natural and you will be a grate rider. You are going ahead well. Driven by the need to be free and mobile. You rock Chicky and as John said It is great to work with someone that wants to learn. Tart is a great inspiration and she has felt the pain so it is good to chat to her cos she has the answers you are looking for. The goat was a shock and it was very dangerous but sooner or later you gota experience it. Later would have been better but there you go. Your natural skill kept you going. And the fact we wouldn't let you stop.
Roll on next week. Was great to spend a few hours chatting to Tart. Was good of MSTRS to let me have her for that long

I can imagine why, but hesitate to speculate on an open forum

You are right...riding's always better when you have company
If your muscles are sore, it is because you weren't relaxed. Understandable when you are nervous etc. It will get better as you progress.

    OK, sore back muscles...hmmm.
Seriously it is because you need to relax more...I know what I am saying because I've been there (and for a bloody long time!) Take a deep breath and then let it out Keep breathing! Talk to yourself or sing in your helmet, it helps to relax you and keep your breathing even.
You are doing great kiddo, just keep it up!

Do tell... what is it that you (newly) Hawkes Bay people do???? Sounds like the weekends are pretty interesting up there....
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
