Auckland to Napier - 6 July '07

Halleluiah! I am reunited with my bike! Back in Aucks, got it serviced today at Colemans ($200!!!!!), and on Saturday it's bye bye big smoke for the mighty GN. Have to be in Napier by 3pm for a wedding, so I guess 2ish if I'm to do something about helmet hair....

Am dossing on the shore, think I'll leave about 6am, get some coffee at BP Autobahn and then be off. Oh yeah, then on Sunday it's a ride from Napier to Raetihi.

Route suggestions welcome!

Have a safe trip, the weather isnt on your side today

When you get to Taupo, check the condition of the Napier Taupo highway as they were forecasting snow last night and today

So make sure you dress warm too

That's the story! Be aiming to be there for about 7ish, leave by 7.30. Tell you what, I'll text you when I'm leaving the shore in case I accidentally sleep in.....

Thanks for the double sock tip Nasty, didnt think of that, and yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on the weather, if it's too bad I will just have to miss the wedding, which would be a shame, but haven't got snow chains for the bike yet harr harr.
