MFSC lives on!
Hey guys Like I said eddie and sloan. Genuinely feel for you guys I really do.
But the proposal of superbike engines being run as stock out of the box was and is a plan intended to GREATLY reduce the price of building and running a competetive SB.
Apreciate your guys personal point of veiw but surely its got to be better for the sport if teams can afford to build a bike
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
Hmmm, I happened to be in a certain New Plymouth workshop late last year and saw a brand spankin' new CBR1000RR stripped to less than it's undies, with a fuggin' impressive pile of HRC boxes and packets stacked on the benches around it. The boss was battling the phone for a bit and I spent a good few minutes batting off over such an arousing display of HRC sexiness, my apologies if some were a bit sticky. I wonder just how much of that moto-porn would would still be legally fitted under the new rules.....
The Honda/Suzuki bias is neither here nor there. The only real bias is towards potential racers rather than existing ones which almost beggars belief: if I was running a business I'd certainly be looking after my existing clients before I went looking for new ones.
I've actually got no problem with the new rules, other than the fact I'll see more impressive bikes at club meetings and in the car park, but I reckon they could have done a lot better with the way they appear to be bringing them in, with no transitional period whatsoever.
Then there's the fact racers will still avoid Superbikes like the plague when it comes to choosing a race bike because they get half the racing as compared to other classes of bike. Even under the new rules, why would you take a day off work and drive all the way to Taupo (for example) for 1 practice and 2 races when for virtually the same money you could do 2 practices and 4 races on a 600? This is the core issue behind low Superbike numbers and it's just being ignored.
