see, with a bit more of a sensible attitude the fear that you will be a danger to yourself and others suddenly evaporates.

that said, non-insurance is asking for financial ruin; especially without 3rd party as you have no idea how much damage you are going to cause and the poor bastard you hit is going to be less than sympathetic. dunno bout you, but i can't afford new tyres, let alone a new mercedes

Yup gavjn, thrash that 250. You're lucky enough to already have your licence, I'm still working on getting my learners lol.

And ah shit guys, my parents aren't letting me on this ride! They say for me to wait to get my licence and get more exp. I think it will be more fun riding my own bike than being pillion next time around anyway.

ok ffs, you women stop bitching.

Owning a bike out side your licence class dose not and CAN not mean you will crash and die and kill everyone on the ride.

Unless of cource you've ridden with him and know what hes like on the road. Else SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Thats a bit OTT, we're just taking a rip into his confidence, bringing him back down to earth.

I think you all need a reality check. A tiny bit of plastic dosent mean dick squat about anything. I've met some really bad riders with full liceces on all types of bikes, and ive met some bloody good ones who are disqualified.

IF you dont know what your talking about, dont say it! (man is that pot black or what)

He's practically only just bought this bike. Brand new.
His first one larger than a 250.

Ill take that as pointed at me, Im not particularly caring whether he has a blue piece of plastic or an orange one, I believe its all about the attitude (See post #113 & the fml thread). Andrew has merely pointed out the potential shortcomings to everyone else.

All that said, Saturday looks to be damp

no need to not come back, jsut take on board what others say - which you're doing just fine. I know I did an uncomfortably silly thing on the last smctnr that i'll not be doing again, that Sam rightfully pointed out at the next stop.

yep it's your bike and your money, but unless you have the cash to replace MY bike with the same model in a reasonable time frame..... this (@renegade) is the crux of the issue where we get all whiny. plus we may have just saved him an injury (pride, financial or otherwise).

i agree having a licence means diddily squat to riding skill (and said so in my mammoth post), but it DOES mean insurance and not being found at-fault by default, plus several hundred bucks in fines. That and less than 7 days ago he confessed to fucking up a simple bigballs take off at the lights
