I'll do a video - before and after so yaz all c'n hear it grooowwwwwlllll...
Here are a couple of shots showing the pre-assembled whole deal plus a close up of the "warrant-getter" - gold coloured insert that reduces the noise some 4 - 5 db in order to comply with the appropriate regulatory authorities...![]()

All go - took a wee while to make the change - mainly sawing off the old can with a hacksaw...tedious....cutting upside down is no fun...
So does it make a difference?
Well yes, it sounds different for a start - more like a v twin and less like a sewing machine.
Dyno graphs that come with the can indicate two or three more ponies but also more torque - the latter increase being the major one.
Test ride suggested that the graphs are right - I didn't have a chance to really fang it out, but it seems very much freer up through the rev range, with more push at around 6k continuing up to around 8k anyway and probably to 9k...probably more increase lower down than at the top though.
Now to see if it still warrantable...and if the neighbours run me outa town on a rail...

When you cut the old muffler off, was there any honeycomb catalytic converter type stuff in the pipework?
Just curious as some markets have these in them.
Yes there is indeed a catalytic converter in there...be sure not to cut ANY closer to the weld than they recommend - in fact I would probably add 2-3mm if I was to do it again - doesn't affect the fit of the 2bros....my sawing just scraped the edge of the converter surround...couldn't have got any closer.

Two sound clips for your delectation...

Lovely! just mmmmm
FWIW - I took it into Boyds and had them run it past their sound meter...96db at 4500rpm...plenty of margin there. That is with the P1 suppressor insert in place. Without it, you'd be real close to the limit...
