I know know why drivers hate scooter riders

Up until last week my wife (my pillion)and I rode a motorcycle to work but decided that commuting was too hard on the bike so decided to get a scooter to commute to work and save the bike for the open rode.

Up until now I have never really taken notice of the scootees. Now I am one of them, a scootte, that is I have started to take notice.

Passing on yellow lines, riding over footpaths, cutting in front of cars......the list of inconsiderate actions doesn't really stop. I sort of feel ashamed on their behalf. But what the hell, I am enjoying the scooter (a 250cc Yamaha Majesty). But please don't tar me with the same brush of the idiots.
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Each to their own tactics. Scooter riders might think they have a few benefits with being small, and they do, but some guys are dicks with how they put other drivers out.

Hehehe... Have you seen the crazies in cages that do the same things? I have seen some interesting interpretations of "roads" and "parking zones" around Auckland City.

I don't feel ashamed because I also have a cage. I do get pissed off at people who abuse disabled parking zones.

What worse is the people who wear their work attire, half faced helmet, mabey some gloves on a wet and windy cold wellington day where i would be cold even wearing full gear. I don't know how they deal with that cold

They look funny wearing heels going up the terrace on scooters. Add wind and no jacket. Mad.

It's awesome on the open road at the speed limit in summer with shorts and tee-shirt on. The perfect way to cool off. Fark you'd wanna be real careful though.. I've done it once, but only once - keep well clear of anything and anyone.

I lived in Perth and did it all the time in Summer. It's just too damn hot in summer to wear the gear.
