Yep I have to say having run into Mark Ellis at the Grey Lynn RSA he was out on a stag night with his mates, he is quite a charismatic sort of guy, I give him a bit of a ribbing over the highlanders, they were on the big screen and I had a laugh at them getting beat by the Blues but he was very humble, he went out of his way to talk to Jessie a 30 year old guy with downs syndrome he even gave him a hug. Top all around bloke who cheerfully chatted to anyone that said anything to him.

Yes, I too enjoy Marcs new show....and to add to the "Kiwi-comedy" flavour, the very next program after him [Diplomatic Immunity] is an absolute corker....finally TVNZ has some decent viewing.

Hell he is human eh?One day people say he is a twat, next he is a great guy, personally I respect those who try to create humour on tv,his comes accross as brilliant.

Sportscafe was a little overdone about the middle series, came good at the end in my opinion.

Be bloody good if he hooked up with Howie Morrieson jnr on his hunting aotearoa, the out take would be hilarious.

Great programme....close friends of mine were on Who Dares Wins last month, they said he was very genuine. He fell in love with my mates cat (was cuddling it on the programme)

Got to give credit to the guy. The name Mark Ellis is associated with many endeavors these days, he hasn't been one to rest on his "I was an All Black" laurels and expect success to come his way - he goes out there and works hard for it.

Haven't caught his new show as yet, will lock it in for a look next week.

Agreed - hated Matthew Ridge but liked Marc's humour. He can be an idiot at times but in a good-natured way, and this latest series is a great watch.

He took the mickey out of the hippies at that alternative lifestyle place in one of the first programmes, but in a gentle way, and the Hare Krishna one was great. The pig hunting one wasn't easy to watch but at least they didn't show the gore, and we were quite surprised to see how much of a softie he was!

I'm finding it a really interesting insight into - quite literally - how the other half lives. I also enjoyed the series on immigrants that unfortunately didn't rate well and is now on DVD. There were some really great stories told in that series and I wish they'd show the full series, even in the early hours, so I could tape it.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

The thing is, Marc Ellis is clever and quick-witted. Matthew Ridge is not.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
