This whole problem has nothing to do with cars, like when that cops car got shot at in Christchurch, it was not a boy racer that did it, it was some drunken idiot with an airgun, and yet these Nazis are blaming it on cars. And when that security guard got her car bottled last week by Christchurch airport, it was not a boy racer that did it, it was some drunken idiots that did the damage. I fail to see how crushing and impounding cars will prevent drunken hooligans from assaulting people and causing willful damage. The "boy racers" do annoy some people with their noisy exhausts and BOVs, but it's the pissed passengers that are causing all the problems, so why isn't the government trying to tackle the real problem?
hey hold on there mate, so you are saying that the cop and the security guard were in the wrong place at the wrong time ?? so do these yobs or drunken idiots as you call them just happen to be in the same place as the boy racers or is it the other way round, what ever way you look at it, this copper and the securuty gaurd was only doing what butters there bread, so what should they have done avoid these places !!!, what if it was outside your house would you call the cops or noise patrol to sort it out ?? dont forget these yobs will proberly appear at the same time, could you handel it. i have a scanner and live in CHCH and hear all the time about these pricks most of them over 100 points on there license its other goverment offices that let down the system not taking there license or issueing notices to forbid. the cops try and do the best they can, i have heard of cars that have had three green stickers and the cop cannot do anything about it. all these shit heads will do is if they will lose there car, they nick yours or my car and have there fun so we still end up paying, the law and the courts have to get tough on them jail the bastards and that hobbit on tv last week should be made an example of for condoneing illegal activities and riotios conduct likley to cause a breach of the peace. and i have heard on the scanner the police give out the informants details over the radio, that does not help matters as these pricks know who is shopping them and they park up outside there house just to let them know that they know the score.

I don't disagree with most of the posts here, BUT they (the law) can't crush something that does not belong to these dickheads it's the law, If we stop calling them boy racers it will take some of the shine away & lets face it they're not real racers just 's with a point to prove (not sure what point)
but as someone who has arsed up because of diesel find it rather to find these A.H's doing on purpose & should it happen because of said A.H's
I would be going on a which hunt

What really annoyed me was the comment about spreading oil around the road to do burnouts on was not dangerous to other road users as it was on a straight piece of road and so would not be hazardous with causing a car to loose control, they had no idea of the hazard it would cause a motorcycle to ride over the stuff.
Funny how motorbikes are not seen as other road users, if i saw that guy, he would end up wearing his balls as earrings!

So impounding and crushing cars as well as disqualifying people from driving will automatically stop people from using violence and it will stop drunken idiots from vandalizing property.

Nope, but it's a good start.

Why are people excusing the bullshit that these fucking morons pull for kicks on a Saturday night. I had a chat with a mate who is ex-LAPD, they would bought in the SWAT team if a cop had of been shot at in LA. This country has a tolerance for people pulling this shit - without hard consequences, these little fuckers are running riot with perfect freedom.

It's not a few guys doing donuts on a quiet stretch of tarmac - these fuckers are actually ambushing cops.

Now, I'm not a fan of draconian law for laws sake, but something needed to be done a long time ago.

Most weekends during the summer, hoons turn up at the beach, do donuts, rip up the road, vandalise the shit out of everything, throw bottles. The next day, we have to carry the dogs/kids over the glass. I have stopped going out to help when the latest boy racer falls off the road (the last little fuck who knocked on my door demanding help after he drifted off the road and got beached on an island while showing off (drunk as fuck) ended up needing a little lie down for a while).

Fuck the boy racers, crush their cars.
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

I don't encourage drifting it up on peoples front lawns or pouring diesel on the road, but a few burnouts in the countryside is harmless. There is no real boy racer problem, it is simply a fictitious "problem" that the media has created because they have nothing better to report. It is the drunk passengers that are causing the problems, not the drivers. When the cop got shot at, it was a drunk idiot passenger, not the driver, so why are we blaming the drivers? Why is no one wanking on about why we need tougher airgun laws? We have much more important things to worry about, such as the huge debt that this country is in, family violence etc, not trivial things such as "boy racers". The real problem has nothing to do with cars, it's those idiot passengers who can't handle their alcohol and it's them that are causing 90% of the trouble such as bottling cars and starting fights. And when you look at the fatal crash statistics the vast majority of fatalities on our roads are caused by the average 40 year old driver who made a fuck up, not boy racers. It's about time the government got its' priorities right and started cracking down on the REALLY dangerous behaviour such as unsafe overtaking, drunk drivers etc.

    (a) If they would stick to 'a few burnouts in the countryside' it would be OK - but no, the neck-tapping noddies have got to do it where they get the bigger audience and attention.

    (b) Neck-tapping noddy boy-racer types will turn out to be those 40 year old drivers that make fuck-up - that is if they don't fuck up while they're still a boy first by unsafe overtaking and drink-driving etc..

Celebrity demolition durby with there impounded cars on prime time viewing is the way to go.I want to watch their faces drop as their cars take hits.
Maybe watching their mates cars get wrecked will give them second thoughts about causing havoc in the future.you cant tell me the boy racers are not going to turn the TV on to see a few evos and wrxs getting smashed up.

And you ride a 1000cc sports bike just for the wank factor and you never exceed any posted speed limits? A GN250 would be a better choice then, because after all your bike is the boy racer equivalent of a bike.
