I think you can set your privacy options in the user control panel. I would highly recommend hiding your details from people you don't know.

If they have added you to your friends list, then yes, you would be able to see all their info. Thats why I add a lot of people as contacts only, not friends (and have them set to see different stuff).

User CP > Profile Privacy. Set what level of people can see what stuff...

I was very surprised to see some folks personal details on their profile. I had assumed they had added me to their contacts list.. not that I had asked them.

Probably the best thing to do is report it to a moderator, or someone in the engineering crew who can check it over.

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

Must admit I didn't know the difference between friends and contacts.

Headbanger understands the Profile options very well - in fact he could probably hack it

The point is that some innocent people aren't hiding their personal info. Not a good idea in the world of the net where scammers, stalkers, and plain old fashioned burglars can find heaps of interesting stuff about you.

I've noticed the same thing on a few profiles. It clearly states that the info is hidden - but it ain't.

Generally speaking it's never a good idea to post personal information on any website, no matter whether you can 'hide' it or not, as there are always people that can hack into databases etc. The people that need to know probably already do, and if someone wants to contact you there is always the PM system.

    Just my thoughts.
