NO it’s not the road.
It’s about riding to your own limits. I use to chase Dave all around the country and had a ball doing it at speed. Then as Dave picked up the pace I realised I couldn’t keep up and I didn’t want to take the risk. I also understand that fast riders need to be out and going at the speed that gives them the buzz.
It is simple really. If you are going to chase a fast group of riders grow some balls and ride at your own pace. This group is great company and look after each other. I saw you stop 3 times to regroup in the short time I was with you on the weekend. As long as everyone knows where the ride is going we will all end up at the same place.
I accept that I can’t ride at the speed of the fast guys/girls and can’t afford the recovery time if I crash cos I would loose the business, and I am an old fart that will take a long time to heal, so I scoot along at the back and still have a great ride. Come on people if we keep fallin off we will have no one to ride with. Grow some balls and do what you feel happy doing. Go flat out if you want to or slot in to the middle or scoot along at the back. Ride to your ability not your ego
Makes no difference at the end of the day but just get out and ride as a group of Hawkes Bay riders.
