Scenic South Island

Feel like a leisurely ride through the most scenic part of the South Island. 700- 1000 kms ridden at your own pace. Well its on.

The ride must be completed between 20th August and the end of November (hell, even I'm not that slow) and costs a mere $15 to enter.

Thats a good idea and I will be a starter.
How many KB'rs live along the route - looks like you'll need to get your spare rooms and floorspaces ready!!!
I'm sure some will plan bits of it to work in with going to the Penguin

While it is only a day ride for some... you do have to remember to add time to find and answer the questions... and food and fuel... becomes a long day

It all just a bit of fun... to get people out riding, you may learn something new, go on a road you have never been or or just doing it for fun... take the time to have a bit of a look about at some to the spots of interest... enjoy the scenary etc... have got a couple of people that are going to do it over 3 or 4 days and make a bit of a holiday out of it...

I like the idea of dossin down at the various abodes of KBers that live on the route. those who have ample room naturally - in the house or on the lawn...

Sounds like a good trip! Yeah and tagging all or part of it onto the Pissed Penguin would be fun, make a decent weekend of it, as the PP

is only a one nighter I think too (Saturday)

Fantastic, its a great way to encourage people to get out and ride, the lastest 'BIKE' magazine has a article listed 'The great escape' which is to complex to blab on here but its a type of competition with a difference, to encourage riders to get out and about.
