I've only ridden the long track once, but fook it's good, way better than just the front section.
I'd planned on doing two of the winter rounds (not gonna happen now, long story....) but they were gonna be the one's on the long track.

I agree. Have done the long track once too and loved it. With a little work it could turn Manfeild into the best track in NZ.

Also I did notice that wall coming back onto circuit but a air fence would solve that issue and just dont look there and hopefully you wont head towards it
I DIDN'T notice it but now that you bastards have mentioned it I will probably not be able to think about anything else next time !!!

I often wonder how many nights Slighty lays awake thinking about what could have been if his " team mate " hadn't taken him out. "I" nearly cried watching it on TV.

The extension was used a lot up until about 2004 for the car/bike track days. The logic I heard at the time was that they didn't want pimple faced boy racers getting their crap heaps up to terminal speed along the back straight and having a major crash entering the sweeper.

I miss that long circuit. Manfeild has never been as much fun since.

They were brilliant track days. $40 a pop but the bikes did have to take second place to the cars for track time.

Typical knee-jerk over reaction to safety concerns - cease all public car/bike days. Just because the car idiots were reckless - cars circulating packed full with passengers hanging out the windows with cans of drink, cameras and fags. Passengers hanging out the windows (no seatbelt on) waving at the crowd to make sure everyone was in no doubt about how stupid they were.

A few simple rules would have sorted out the drop-kicks. There seemed to be absolutely no rules for the cars! But the bikes were checked and Riders had to have decent riding gear.

Hey, perhaps some one within the VMCC club could talk with Leyton Minnel @ Wanganui scene RE there Airfence for when the long track is used IF this turn is an issue?

There would be costs involved though for transportation etc I am sure

I have to say, that manfeild long circuit is awsome!!! adds veriety, and the bumps make it a little more challenging, but still awsome fun!!!! the air bags could be a good idea for the concret wall as u entre back onto the back strait, but the corner still had plenty of grip, enuff to hapily go around the out side of people to set ur self up for dunlop. as long as u keep ur eyes from look at the concret wall
