Used to be the same but I watched it for a season and realised how tactical it can be

I'm shocked that you assume I haven't. Death Race 2000 is a true classic, and I still maintain that it's one of Stallone's best (although not on a par with Demolition Man).

Hell, without Death Race 2000 we wouldn't have had Carmageddon, and that would not be a world I would like to have grown up in!

do yourself a favor .. If you are ever in the states around Daytona, Talledega or Charlotte .. Buy a ticket.. Watch the race live and try not to be overwhelmed or put into the jitters from sensory overload ..

These guys are over 200 mph on the backstraight ...3 inches apart and trying to pass.. Daytona has a 33 degree bank.. You couldnt walk up it.. The pit stops are 5 lugnuts on 4 tires with manual race jacks and rattleguns and 2 20 gallon gas cans .. Pit crews are in as good a shape as the AllBlacks ( some NFL football players use their off season as pit crews just to keep in shape)

also .. Road america, Watkins Glenn, Chigagoland.. All NZV8 style road courses
best track is Bristol TN.. 1 mile hi banked oval.. 33 cars start .. 6 finish

not to mention the complete party atmosphere you get with 100 thousand drunk rednecks in a great mood.. a one day race means 2 days before and 1 day after pissup

rugby is 20 odd half naked metrosexuals feeling each other up for 80 minutes and chasing a pointy ball.. We used to call that game ' smear the queer'

yea .. Im a redneck .. So what?

I agree wholeheartedly. Talledega Superspeedway Is high on my list of things to do. Just like watching Moto Gp at Laguna Seca.

Friends of mine (mum dad and 2 kids) went to the USA for a motor racing holiday a couple of years ago - went to IRL, NASCAR and NHRA. This family have an apartment in Surfers and go there for the IRL/V8s every year, so they know what motor racing is all about.

Mum's order of 'exciting racing' - 1 = NHRA, 2 = NASCAR, 3 = IRL. 100000 people at the NHRA in Vegas, 130000 at NASCAR.......

It's all big, brash and loud. Pretty much like America really.

The fastest recorded speed is 212.809mph set by Bill Elliot at Talladega in 1987, I think since the restrictor plates came as a result of a 200+ mph crash by Bobby Allison the top speeds on the superspeedway are now around the 190- 200mph mark

some of the short tracks they're only around the 100-120mph mark

Someone did test run on telladega without restricter plates a few years ago and they were getting 220+ mph which is obviously getting silly when you have 40 cars on the track.

I think I'd rather take one for a drive http://www.racingadventure.com/ I'd put money on them not being anywhere near as fast as the real thing though

As opposed to those gridiron playing poofters that have to pad up before they go on the field?

Well let's face it - a choice between talking about Nascar and Stallone is really a no-brainer.

John Spartan was the man. And about the only guy in the world who is bigger than you!

You've clearly got some catching up to do then.

He's already killed more people than cancer.

my 2 cents worth.....Nascar rocks...Its about strategy, reliability and good crews....

Akso just to let ya know, it is such a buzz being there in real life and having 40 cars buzz past at 200mph....as Quiet Riot says "Come on, feel the noise"....ya can really feel it....oh, and did I mention Titties,,,more titties than in all the waikato dairy sheds put together!
