    Survey on food shortages...

Last month a world-wide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was:-

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure because of the following:

    a) in Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

    b) In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

    c) In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

    d) In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

    e) In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

    f) In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

    g) In the US they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

    And Finally...........................

    h) In Australia they hung up because they couldn't understand the Indian accent.

You should try feeding a 19 year old, its bloody near impossible to fill him up!!!

hehe good joke, but on a serious note, 50% of the worlds grain production is for food to feed the animals we eat.
beef, chickens etc..it must be true coz i saw it on Our Great Leader Uncle Mao channel.

yup, vegetarianism is the way to go for overpopulation, water used for meat production is also huge, plus the animal rights issues

    Yep, absolutely correct.

For most of the worlds existence animals have been essential to human survival. Because we didn't have have industrially created fertilisers, and pesticides, and lacked heavy machinery, animals represented the only practical way to produce food from marginal lands.

But now we have no shortage of machines and chemicals, and soon specially genetically engineered plants will mean the use of animals for food production will be a distant memory.

Of course the animals we currently farm will be valueless, and we will face the extinction of some, particularly rarer breeds of sheep, which are not useful for dairy.
