    xr-rider's rd3 report

I was looking forward to this round as i had not raced there since last year. I had new tires fitted the week before and was wanting to beat my best time of 1.38.724.

    Qualifying
the new tires felt a bit weird on the first lap but once they had a bit of heat in them they were fine. track was still a bit damp, i ended up doing a best lap of 1.37.281 which was faster than my previous best by over a second and good enough for 6th in my class and 4 seconds off the leader.

    Race 1
decided not to be aggressive off the start after my 2 rubbish ones last round and ended up towards the front of the streetstocks. passed a couple of people on the first lap then i set my sights on David Croft. i passed him and i thought i had a bit of a gap back and then i got a shock as Ryan Firn passed me. we had a good little battle before i got a slight gap and on the last lap i screwed up at the hairpin and let him and Tyler past. i passed Tyler back on the back straight before catching up to Ryan in dunlop. i couldn't quite pass him and he beat me by 0.024 seconds. i ended up 7th with a best lap of 1.35.237

    Race 2
Was a bit more aggressive off the start this time and gained a few places going into turn 1, i passed a few more round the outside going into splash, i then had a clear track ahead of me.i was passed back down the middle straight by a 125 and then i caught back up going into higgins, he then pulled away from me down the straight, i passed him round the outside going into splash, he then passed me back down the straight which got more and more frustrating as he was holding me up round the corners, on lap 4 i passed him on the exit of dunlop and he passed me back down the straight, i outbraked him going into turn one and that was the last i saw of him. i ended up 6th with a best lap of 1.35.570

You could see you were a lot more orgainsed within the pits, finally getting your bike sorted. Letting you focus on your riding, rather than having too worry about your bike.

Fantastic improvement, i'm very happy for you. 1:35's aint bad at all.

Well Done again too think aj once had that bike .

It's so cool to see the improvements coming xr-rider. More to come no doubt. As usual street stocks are shaping up to be an awesome class. You doing Wanganui?

Good stuff mate, thats a good gain on yr PB !
Sounds like ya had some fun battles out there too !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Jeff you are looking Awesome out there and you are 1 rider who has improved so much since your 1st race meeting last year in May. Keep up the good work and who knows maybe 1 day we will see you out there on a 400 when time and money allows it to happen.
