My questions

well i dont post around here much, but am allways looking. i have a few questions for all of you. i have an old xr200 rollong frame around with cr forks etc on it was a good trail bike when i was a little smaller, engine is poked and iv been looking for a cheep bucket for some time but i cant seem to find what i am after for the right amount of coin. So with a little work and cheap chinese 150cc engine, 17inch rims etc etc would i be able to race F4 ? it would be a F4 motard monster thing made from what i have in the barn.. or am i just better to keep looking for a another bike ... If you have well set up reliable F5 or F4 bike and are looking to sell please get in contact with me thanks

You can pick up a brand-new Loncin 150 engine for around $500 incl carb, ignition etc. Should theoretically bolt straight in.
Chuck some 17" wheels and slick plus a decent front brake and you could have a fun machine.

It would probably do very well around the small tracks that buckets race on!

theres a rooster in Dunedin with a hot 150cc powered XR200 and it was very competitive

Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.

What's the fact that they're SOHC and 5 speed got to with them not being very good for track days?

We had one blasting round at Mt Wgtn a few years ago. Rick(?) owned it, had 17s on and the best dunlop slicks you could get. It went very well.

Could be a fun ride. We had a Loncin motor, easy to bling up a bit, very reliable. I won a few 'B' grade races on ours.

Skunk is right about sticking yer foot out tho. Motard style riding is dangerous on a kart track.
