    Flash!

Fucking bastards got me last night...GF and I caging back from d'Auckland, alone on the road, just south of Mercer where the road splits....round the corner, down the hill and there on the side of the expressway hidden in the darkness is a fucking speed camera...which duly when POOF as I passed. Bastards. I was tempted to loop round and go back past at 180, just to give it something to bleat about....'cause according to the speedo I was at around 111km/hr when flashed. ....given the fact that the speedo over-reads about 4%, I was surprised to get pinged...I am sure the entire fabric of the universe was being threatened by such insane flouting of the regulations...

Are they allowed to hide a speed camera in car on the side of the road at night? I thought they had to have park lights on.

If you were actually travelling under 100km/h (allowing for your 4% error) then you might find that you don't get a ticket in the mail.

However, perhaps the error in the speedo was the other way, and you were travelling faster than indicated?
You really need a GPS to verify your speed easily.

damn money collectors, they dont do anything to stop people speeding. hope you dont get anything in the mail.
Next time go over 200 so the cam dont get you, design a car which doesnt bounce back the signal like a stealth bomber, or just keep it under 100
    Thats whats up.

Even allowing for the 4% over-read, I would have been over 100km/hr - prolly around 107 - just NOT over 110...which I would hope to get away with....

The speedo definitely over-reads - at least according to the trailer mounted speed readers they park around the place from time to time. I have checked it on lots of them and it always over-reads. It would be a very rare speedo that under-read these days...
