I am the first to admit I didn't have anything like the upbringing that you describe with Steven. But I did go through a phase where I could have easily taken the wrong path, and ended up on the wrong side of the law and possibly in jail.

Instead I chose to turn my life around.

Sure it can be harder for some, but real badarses with shit childhoods have turned their lives around. I knew a gang member in his 50's that seemed like an ok guy....to me and a few in my group of friends anyway.... but he had mellowed and was well past his prime.

So how do you define 'tough' ? Could he have taken the 4 others out ? Was he stupid enough to try and fight when running would have been more sensible ? Was he relying on the "I'm fucken mad don't take me on approach" ?

Most parents of these 'gangstas' have a lot to answer for. It isn't easy to break the cycle but it isn't impossible.

I would hardly call youth gangs tough for committing petty crime. When i used to buy tineys it was mostly dealt by uni student trying to get abit more cash so they could get written off in the weekend.

A think a good way to help out the troubled youths is to invite them into motorcycling possibly? As slicksta mentioned they want to feel a part of something and find mates in joining gangs, they could feel part of a riding club and have fun meeting new people. What do you say Deano? there are a few people who i know who, if i could somehow get them a bike, take them into a carpark and maybe they might find it fun? Once you get the biking bug you never go back!

Great idea mate - very positive.

It was the discipline involved with kickboxing and tertiary study that turned my life around, so I'm all for it.

I reckon it's harder to make that change than to say fuck it I don't give a shit.

I might ask my brother if he can lend me the cbt125, take it to a carpark, just got to see if they will do it. I hope they dont ride off and make a runner with the bike for a joyride!

Tis true they need something to take them away from there lives, somthing positive instead of being another crime statistic, that is the hard part.

Been there - fortunately the dude biffed it and broke his foot real bad. No damage to the ER185 though LOL.

    These were so called 'friends'.

I got smacked up by a bunch of little cocks, one guy in front just out of choking range and his faggot fucking mates sneak up on me. I've got nothing but bad feelings towards these pussies.
