I have posted about this before, I have had experience of asking. I turned it away as an option as I was not prepared to go there for the pathetic amount of money on offer. I obviously dont know how to play the game eh.

I am an odd sort of woman, I can cook, heaven help me I can sew and knit, I grow vegetables. I can turn the most crap meat into yummmmmm stuff. I have those skills. I learned them by experimenting and many disasters along the way.

Dont pay people money, dont friggen cap what they get. Pay out welfare in food, and electricity, and education. Dont give money that can be spent on any other thing but, food for your babies and rent to keep a roof over your head. Take it back to basics, but make it fair for all

How about a time limit - dole say 2 years then zippo for a decent period of time. Can't find a job in 2 years - sod off then I don't care. Go and pick fruit, and yes you might have to move town to do it.
DPB should be gone - you breed em, you feed em. we had to pay for childcare while working, so harden up. In any case, no DPB once the kids are at school.

I know of one lady who might have worked 6 months in her life - between the bene and latching onto men (suckers) she has led a far better lifestyle in the country than we could afford.

Everytime we needed a bit of help through circumstances, there was never anything for us.
Lost my job - no you have to live on your partners part time minimum wage waitressing job. Ditto when she moved to Auckland and couldn't get a job. Should have said we were just good friends...
When I was in Christchurch, and the family was up here for 2 years, the system couldn't cope with the fact we were still married and together, but apart by circumstances. If we had lied and said we had separated, we could have got a pile of $$$. Dishonest, but when i see how much tax I pay, I wish we had....
Honesty is penalised in NZ. Lies pay.

They just announced that there is to be less acc for people who fuck themselves up, for example crashing a bike.
As of novemberish they are going to cut back physio payments.
IF THEY WERE SEROIUS ABOUT SAVING MONEY THEY SHOULD STOP ALL THE USELESS THIGNS THAT THEY MAKE YOU DO, FUCK I MUST HAVE WASTED $20K ON GOING TO THIS MEETING/THAT MEETING/THE OTHER ADVISOR, WHEN ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS UNBREAK MY ARM AND GET BACK TO WORK! I can't say I've ever had it easy myself but I can proudly say I've never been unemployed since I started my working life with after school jobs. I've had to accept some shitty jobs to stay employed. It really makes me mad what people can get in handouts. Don't get me wrong, help to those who need it but its the ones that blatantly take the piss really get my goat.

I battled my way up to being a small business owner because I could only ever look at myself with any form of pride when I can provide for my family. 2 cents done!

Well I did once find myself on the skids- work run out- nowhere to turn, but I went to Polytech so the govt paid me a 'student allowance' rather than any dpb's doles or other such- topped off with a very healthy accom suppliment-

I paid back the 9 grand student loan-

About 250 bucks a week for my family of 5 during the 9 months of study was non re-payble family support fees etc
Wife went back to pt time work and now is management at the firm she was with- so she gained a career from our change of circumstances-
I work in IT getting a fair$- no more no less and lifes good

Yes- I got some help- we all as Kiwi's are entitled- but man- I was no bludger -like these examples we see here

In know your all fair people- I feel your pain at the welfare states cost to us all
Just do remember- not ALL them peoples at the winz office are as we may perceive
