I just made do with the gloves at mt eden motorcycles and got used to it. I thought it would give me problems at first but I think it's all part of getting used to the whole get-up. Generally, the whole leathers-boots-gloves-helmet package takes a lot of getting used to. My hands are pretty small. 16cm at the longest part.

Do not EVER cut the fingers off gloves to make them fit. The concrete will rip off your fingernails and probably take off the fingers too. I think the most important things that need to fit snugly is your helmet, followed by your boots. Any movement in your gloves arising from a less-than-perfect fit will be slight and your hands will still be protected.

I just tried my gloves on and that is where my fingers end, too. The first knuckle of the tip. You should be fine. Just focus on the riding.
