Speaking of tyres.
I had 3 good slides on the rear yesterday on my Pilot Power 2s.
Can't explain it, but know that I dont get them on my Road 2s on the Speedy & Ducati.
Anyone else have that on Powers?
I know Rob has them, and Al has, or did?

There are so many things that can effect the tyres performance. I know you have plenty of motor sport in your blood and know this but we have learnt that 1psi can make a very big difference to how your tyre works. Specially on a road bike as they have so many different road types and times to cool and over heat. Could be down to your tyre pressure. Suspension set-up etc. A tyre that works on one bike will not work on another. You just gota keep checking tyre pressure and make sure you are making 3psi from cold to hot. When you have that sorted you can make a judgment on the tyres performance on that individual bike. I run 34 in the front and 35 in the rear in the cold. Then up it to 36 in the front and 37 in the rear for warmer weather.
If you are sliding on a PP2 you will find the PR2 worse. I would think.........
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire ride, including the rough, gravel, moss and other slippery surfaces as they helped me push through some psychological riding barriers (they usually give me the total shits). Hanging up the front with Todd was a load of fun fo sho !!!
The Highway 50 run home was awesome too. It all got a little spookyabout 5 minutes into it though, because I had my tinted visor on so I couldn’t see diddly... when Dooly’s tail light disappeared around some corners/bends I found myself riding in brail
... not entirely comfy whilst doing the full 100km/h following someone who has ridden that stretch of road a thousand times. But, here I am – still alive hehehe.
I think that I will be getting myself one of those ‘Pilot Road-2’ tyres this coming week – seeing that I totally destroyed what was left of my ‘Pilot Road’ yesterday. Can’t wait for that New Tyre feel... I love how it feels like a totally new bike.
Anyway, thanks guys for letting me ride along with your big-ride-out yesterday !!!
Ps: sorry again about the brake-light thing hehehe.I will get used to these boots sometime I’m sure.
Ha Lunch….. Tui. The boys left it in the fridge back in Napier.
I am sure Alvin had as good a ride as us. I noted the policeman spotter on the front of the bike. That bike is just getting better and better Alvin and I was inpressed with the installation of the H/grips. Very nice.
The rugby was heart attack stuff last night. Bloody hell they could have lost it in the last 30seconds.
K have a great week you lot and see if you can get out and ride.
you have a good week too - and hope the weather is great next weekend with at least two rides on![]()
Most likely after a week of rain, that shit and slippery stuff has moved around and washed to a different part of the road. Had a couple myself yesterday on well known parts of the road where you would lest expect it, getting on the gas almost upright and breaking traction. Good fun though when you get away with it.
Ride next weekend with the Warriors it will be a short plant down to the Patangata I think and back for a Yak and they gona shout tea, there's about 30 of them suppose to be turning up and we will leave from Rebel Sports about 1.30 it will be a tootle anybody wanting a slow jaunt then feel free to join us.

Cheers Steve.
I've been having about 37-8 in the rear, and 35-6 in the fronts.
The handbook recommends 42R & I think 36F.
I run those pressures in the Speedy as well as the Daytona and have no probs on Road2s on Speedy.
Might try a little pressure experiments then eh.
