In future people we make an honest attempt to replicate tag pictures!!!

Either myself, Banditrider, cowboyz or Meanie have the authority to make final decisions. This way there should be someone online that can make an official call.

Perhaps when the actual tag pic is a trifle unconvincing the tagger should post it together with supporting evidence. If bogan had posted his two pics together then he may have secured the tag cleanly under the "reproduce as best you can" rule. Of course, a shiny new camera with a decent flash would've taken it beyond doubt.

Given that most of us chase tags outside of working hours this will happen again as day tags are captured at night.

Top tip for taggers with rubbish cameras

My P&S is okay but my Nokia is crap. I've had a few really bad pics so far and the main reasons are the numberplate or the headlight. The number plate is worst. It reflects so much of the flash back that the rest of the shot becomes horribly under exposed. Framing the shot to exclude the plate or draping something over it makes a huge difference. Try it, YMMV.

At least with daylight saving almost on us it should be less night flash shots maybe.Also maybe if the pic can't be taken as per tag(original)maybe take pic as close as showing tag,then also say it is xyz school,front gate sign or similar words,and another pic of bike in position even if not clear.This only really needed if the pic you take is dark and barely recognisable.

Good point mowgli! If in doubt, take a supporting picture and post the two together.

Some of the tag photos probably aren't that good (bike on angle etc). The one I've used is 158x128 pixels so if you can shrink them down to that size it would be helpful.

Geek fever has struck again...

use adobe photoshop to cut the bikes out, and then paste them to a transparent backgound so you dont get the backgound of the photos in, just the bikes.
