The mormon few are around the area I think? Maybe I can get them to scare these undesirable locals off...

Maybe. Apparently some Maori party rep they tried to get help from pretty much tries to avoid them, so maybe they're just opportunists that have no entitlement.

Um - did I miss something , I didn't get upset? you did?
    Are you smoking something?

I am from Waikato - and have connections in Raglan, there's an area named after my father at Raglan in honor of all the conservation work and work he's done with local land issues, and I know who the main iwi for Te Kaharoa are (get on well with the Rickards and Keriopas) and I know who to ask about the situation.
But hey.... no worries if you want to be a dick about it

It seemed like I hit a nerve because all I did was point out that you had misunderstood what seems like quite a simple paragraph and then called me sensitive and went off on a little tangent about the racist KB.co.nz. I didn't ask if anyone knew who to call (taniwha busters?) , just if there was a history of that kind of stuff there. Answer seems to be; that besides 1981 it seems pretty isolated. Sorry if I offended you, mate *bromantic punch on the arm*

No raw anything! You're the one who took offense, granted my humour is a bit weak

Well then, if you're so confident that KB has assured you that the issues are isolated - go buy property. Don't ask if you don't want to know.

If I need to spell it out for you; I don't give a shit anymore now because these are the only answers I am getting (apart from blackbirds <3), I'll deal with it myself. It seems no one has been offended here, than

Care to explain in English? "As land was taken so should land be received"?

    Question

Under the Raupatu settlement the Tainui Trust Board received money for confiscated land around Raglan

Some locals have always viewed that the money is to pay for the crime, still waiting for the return of the land

Further to that, some see the whole settlement as the Crown establishing the Tainui Trust, defining which tribes are classed as Tainui, and who Tainui will represent - even if those Hapu disagreed they were included.

Their question is - whose land was taken? To whom was it returned? What was the crime? What money was paid. And to whom?

the saying; I riro whenua atu, me hoki whenua mai Ko te moni, hei utu mo te hara, is the expression used by those who still see a fight to fight in Raglan - they say they lost their land and have received neither compensation nor land back

If the squatters are going along those lines - they may have more support than you realise, or they could just be drop kicks claiming tino rangatiratanga and haven't got a clue about it nor local support

Thanks for that, very informative. Doesn't sound like they have local support considering aparantly they have been trying to use some Maori trust or something which some official isn't very happy about. What would be the worst to happen if they did have "local support" and I went ahead and had them removed from my house and moved right in?

Depends I guess - recently there was an Australian business man who bought a place up north - same situation, rent hadn't been paid, he purchased it and they were given the correct amount of time to vacate - they stayed, police wouldn't help unless he got an eviction order or right to occupy order from the courts. Took months.
It cost him shit loads, they had their day in court and moved out - but now he's selling it because he's worried that after he's fixed it up, they'll torch it!

Not really the win win situation he was hoping for

But then again - they just might see reason and move, have you tried asking them what they would do
