All is not lost however.I found why my heated grips dont work. Some wiring butcher has been at work, the wires that should go to the switch look as tho have just been cut or maybe just yanked out. There have been some other subtle modifications too.
So are we going to be graced with the BMW's presence tomorrow? Don't worry about your brake light, you can ride safely between us and wave at us when you're going to brake. lol.

the front break light is so you can ride backwards, so you can see where you have been.

It was an innovation BMW made when Chris Pfiefer started stunting for them. Since his bike is often pointing in a funky direction while he's stopping.

ps; I'll likely give it a miss today with the weather looking the way it is. I'm a nancy really, dont let the bravado in my typing fool anyone.

    Tukas ride update

    Hey all,

Awesome ride today...except for one corner where I got a bit too intimate with the armco barrier! ...thankfully I saved my bike by taking the brunt of the impact on my foot! Bikes fine...foot is not... Oh well, I managed to keep it upright and rode away (although changing gears was not cool!)

Anyway...just thought i'd get my say in before all the other buggers put the boot in on here! LOL.

Anyway, great company and really good to catch up with you all! Here's a few pics from the ride...Quasi has some more...chuck em up Quasi!

Not a bad little ride eh? Amazing how much warmer it was in the Wairarapa.
But I hate that hill in the wet. I'm probably being far too cautious but at least that way it won't end in tears.

Yeah mate, was great to meet everyone! It started blowing and pissing down as my and Hawkeye crossed the Haywards. Didn't really notice the wind picking up until we were coming around the pauatahanui inlet.

Cautious is good....stacking your expensive toy is not....Good ride mate.

Good wee ride, had to do it being the last day before 24hr/day hill operation starts. Yellow m/c lane little slippery when damp and is interesting how you are meant to turn into summit carpark heading south, now that it is a solid yellow line... Gaped it at just the right time with AJ, home bike in shed 2.05pm, raining 2.10. Cheers

Well, missed you all. That's what happens when you skim read a thread. I didn't think I was going to be able to go on the ride, but I thought about it & figured it was worth pushing it & at least making the hill ride. There was only one bike as I rode past Caltex (where I assumed start was) so I just carried on.

Nice to ride the road (first time since January) for what may be the last time as it is. Missed the rain too so was the right time.
Don't you look at my accountant.
