Go for a walk up Barrys point road or try Colemans and Red Baron in the city.
Most Auckland dealers seem to have a reasonable range.
Check out the Wiki for gear in Auckland:

I would also highly recommend the two KB members, 1Tonne and QUASiMOTO (links to both of their we sites also on Wiki on same page).
If you want to try lots of stuff on, and a variety of brands, styles, prices, etc., go to Motomail or Cycletreads.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.
You're best bet would have to be Boyd's in Hamilton.

Oh.
While I've browsed the bike gear at Cycletreads, and bought tyres, brake pads, oil etc. there, I've never actually bought any bike gear, so I wasn't awre of this aspect. They do have a huge range though, so if you just expect them to be like a wholesaler and don't expect to be waited on, I guess they'd be OK?

I have edited my previous posts about Cycletreads.
Yes I recieved appauling service there several times in the past.
However that was a few months back now, and I do go there and keep spending money myself, and no-doubt will keep coming back with my friends for new gear.(who still need to get it)
My last few visits have been actually very very good, in-fact better than some other stores service wise....(maybe someone read one of my dirty pre-edited posts?)
And no-I was'nt bribed into changing them!
I guess it depends on who you get one the day, but it is very un-fair of me to have lumped them all into the same boat.

I like Cycletreads - there is usually something there that is pretty cheap and they do have a good selection. Also I have got some really good technical advice on my bike when I have had a few problems with it, so they get my thumbs up.

Quite the opposite really. Each time I've been there I've been approached with a "Hi" and asking if I needed assistance for anything.
Good folks who talk with the customer about what is required.
A great distraction when the bike is getting the black donut's attended to!

I just bought a 1tonne jacket off trademe. I'm a 6'1 lanky bastard, so i was worried that it would be short in the arms, but they were bang on. It's a little short, but I'm planning on getting some armoured pants soon anyways.
Anyways, just wanted to say I was impressed with the quality, it's a nice piece of kit.
