Ahh I'm just bored at work and need something to entertain me ha. The thing that is frustrating me the most is that they won't respond to me. If they called or emailed me saying 'oh dear we have made a mistake here I'm very sorry' then I wouldn't be so annoyed.

No different than a brick and mortar store adverting in a pamphlet a cheaper price, then finding out you can't actually buy it a that price. The advertisement itself can fall under the "misleading customers" crap. They do have signs in the store though when that happens, admitting the error.

It was obviously a mistake though and pretty obvious to see how it happened. It looks like it wasn't an easy fix as well as instead of changing the code to display the right place, they have just removed it totally. This could be why it took a little longer to fix.

OP: leave the bastards alone. It's not like the misleading ad caused you to drive to their store just to find out that it isn't that cheap.

Almost as daft as telling us that Competenz clearly don't have enough work to keep you busy. They maybe at the mercy of thier webmaster - give them a break.

Oh we are hugely busy at work - the thing with my role is that it is cyclical and I am in a down period at the moment. Don't worry in a couple of weeks I'll be at a high point and the 15 hour days 6/7 days a week will come out so I won't have time to talk shit here, so just getting it out of the way!

you contacted them so they were aware, they didnt change the price, fuck them, make them supply it. if youve ordered it, they should supply at that price.
a guy I used to knock around with had a similar thing when buying mags for his car, went into the shop, mags advertised instore at $199. sweet, he thought, returned the next day and said I will take those, guy says ok, thats 2k. you see where the mistake was made.
My friend argued it, manager told him to fuck off. Came back the next day with printouts of consumer gaurantees act.
He got his 2k mags for $200.
In this case you were honest enough to tell them. I would go in and be a prick about it. they didnt change it, they must be happy with that price, so they should supply it.

Have you actually phoned them - or just emailed? Email links on web-sites are notoriously ineffective - it may be that noboby has read your correspondence.

I don't agree with picking on them just for principles sake Leanne. It is a very busy shop with customers being given all the best service and attention possible. Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last 15 years would know that the Internet is a very relative thing and sometimes websites are not working the way they had been intended to.

I say give them a little slack. If you truly wanted to buy that suit and went and asked politely I'm sure they will give you the best deal possible together with all the attention that a lady would want.

If there is one thing I know about business is that treating others, the way you would like to be treated can provide golden opportunities. And that applies to all parties.

    Thumbs up

    My 2 cents worth.
I don't think cycletreads would intentionally mislead customers, they don't need to,
I have dealt with said company many times in the last 5 years and have always been treated fairly.and been happy with the price and product.

They do some pretty sharp prices on tyre specials, support bikers immensely and are good to deal with. The staff are knowledgeable and easily approachable.

Shops like that are difficult to find. I'd be trying to say "thanks guys & gals".

I have to say, that's a terrible way to do business. If you put up a website, and put an email address on it, it's critical that you check those emails! There's an entire generation of people coming into their high discretionary spending years who're quite happy doing all their business via email! Inviting them to contact you thus, and then ignoring them, is incredibly retarded!

This a sad but very true fact of the interweb. I have communicated with many companies via an e-mail link, and have had very few answers. This applies to NZ companies and overseas ones. One company that I phoned and queried with, said that the person who holds the e-mail account was away. This phone call was 3-4 weeks after the 2 e-mails I sent them. I think that cycltreads Should come to the party on this mistake, especially as the lady has made an effort to tell them of their error.

Yeah have to say, I could tell you were just having a dig at them. From where I'm sitting, they seem to be the best tyre and accessories shop in Auckland, don't know about other cities. They have awesome range in stock, and can nearly always swap 'em while you wait. And I have never found anywhere cheaper either. I think they need to franchise out to other parts of Auckland (cough east auckland cough).

I know I have them as sponsors in my signature, that sponsorship only went so far as discount on a rear tyre which I still haven't used, but they've always done well by me, from the time I was a learner right though to my racing days.

So they had a few technical issues. They have a huge range and the odd oversight is not worth shooting them for. I think they do remarkably well.
