Do you believe the end result to those "alternitive events" would be any different to those results of the past few nights ???

Drunk student mouthing off at you = baton to the face/ pepper spray.

Completely mis-handled police showing very poor judgement.
    It's a learning thing.

    Students learned pepper-spray fuckin' hurts!

They should be using bean bags on them, then batons, pepper spray and dogs while they are down

At the end of the day those arrested will most likely end up with a crimminal record. Now I aint no student bum so does having a crimminal record affect your loans and Uni exams?

Meh, not a nice look when somebody gets shot with what was meant to be a bean-bag load - only it turns out it was buck-shot.

THAT is why the bean-bag shotguns are now painted green (or sometimes white) in the US.

They restrict travel overseas ... You can't get a job in some countrys if they wont let you in.

International (and some/most) companies wont hire those with criminal convictions. Hard and fast company policy's ... no exceptions.

Which leaves some with qualifications ... and no job to go to. And a large loan to pay off.

    Exactly.

All the students were doing was peacefully going about their lawful business of destroying property, arson, and attacking anyone who dared to attempt to stop them.

The police had no business getting involved, eh?

from what i saw in the news students standing in their own property were pepersprayed, they didnt look to worked up to me the police on the other hand did, if you are standing on your own property watching procedings can the cops spray/assult you without a reason. If they use film footage to prosecute students hopefully the same footage will catch a few cops as well.

Without a reason? That's where the bottles were being thrown from.

are you sure? A student friend of my son was telling me today that on friday night he was walking from town after working to unicol where he lives, totally sober was stopped by some cops and told to fuck off back down where he came from, he told them i live over there and just want to get there about 100 meters away on Clyde St, they wouldnt let him past so he walked back down the road and waited until they left, then went home. he reckoned they were itching for a excuse to arrest him......they sound like a couple of arseholes to me. Im not anti cop or pro student (having owned student flats) but it looked to me like the cops were having to much fun

At times like this EVERYBODY lives 'just over there' 'I need to get to my flat/meds whatever' - well a shitload say that in hope they will be allowed through, whether to just be nosey or create mayhem..

Which penalises those that really do live nearby.
