    Pilot sport -any feedback?

I'm about to replace my front tyre and I was set on it being a Pilot Road 2. I have been offered a good price on a Pilot Sport, and was wondering if anyone has any views on this tyre. I intend to put a PR2 on the rear in the future regardless of what goes on the front. Any feedback about the PS would be much appreciated. Cheers

I had them B+F...hated them. They never gave me grief, but there was just something about them that left me not trusting them. Wore out quick (for me) on the rear too.
Be alright but the PR2 are superior all round. Spend the extra.

PS - heavy bikes like yours love the PR2s as well. Or you could try the Avon Storms...apparently they are a great tyre on sport tourers too.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Pilot Sport I would rate as the best feel front tyre, for a very long time. I have burned out at least 10 sets on my ZZR1100. But you do need to know how to use them to appreciate them, only about 6k from rears. Excellent feedback and feel, unfortunately becoming last years tyre. If your a rider, Mich. duals have funny feel as compounds change, tried set on ZX10, B/stone 002 much better multi compound tyre.

I run pilot road 2's on the rear of all my bikes and love them. Havent gone through a tyre yet on my VTR but on my 816 katana I can get around 9000k and about 10 small to medium burnouts! Running a pilot power on my katana and its all good and a pilot road on the VTR. I've tried varoius tyres and these work best for me.

had 3 x PR2s on the back of the busa over winter. got 3500, 4000 and 4500kms out of them - never gave me any real moments, except they do spin up and step out on flushed tar in the rain occasionally, but i think anything would have in those circumstances.

I get 1200-2000kms out of Battlax 002s over the summer, but they're fucking sticky as, bro.

what do you mean by this? Do they suit more aggressive riding, or do they feel a bit weird at first? From the other comments, it sounds like I can't really go wrong with the Road 2s, but I'm a bit intrigued by the Pilot Sports...

They are lovely neutral handling all round tyre and if you need to shuffle a bit faster they can do it with ease. 38lb in front, I get around 8000km. They have been around for a long time and sort of superceded by the pilot power range, don't feel they will be around for much longer, make the most of em they're cheap as.

The Sport is a 'older' tyre now - nothing much wrong with them, just superseded by new and better technology etc. Consider them yesterdays sport tyre (they were developed for the Blackbird and the likes) at a great price. The last of the SV1000's for sale wore these recently.

I'm on PR2's - and I'd have to say it will have to be a bloody good tyre/price combo to get me to change. I do not notice the transition between compounds as someone mentioned above. They just go from sticky to stickier and don't appear to wear! Nice neutral feel that you control (unlike say a P Power that tips you in).

I got a pilot sport rear for $200. Damn good tyre. Loved it. Did some trackdays on it. bit of touring and some weekend quicker rides. Never had any trouble with it.
