Just had a peek at the Hyo website, interesting. Hyo NZ is run by 2 ex racers, and they even ask for young racers to send in a CV

    Who else does that?

Makes this bike look alot more interesting, mmmm..........pro twins ya say?

Edit: hahaa just looked at the link again, that bikes even got my race # on it, a sign maybe? Jay ya want a team mate?

Yep, I was kinda thinkin' that but no-one really pushes the F1 or F2 rules to the limit like they do in F3.

Hmmmm, anyone got some Dymag rims, or a carbon fibre Durbahn monococque for a CBR1000RR they wanna sell me? Carbon brakes? Ohlins FG800 forks? On second thoughts maybe they should talk direct to my mortgage broker.......

Edit: 'course none of it is worth anything if you don't know how to use it

The Hyosung GT650 did have some bad points when they first came out that there was no getting around when the protwin rules came out. This made them not as competitive a package as the SV650 for Protwin racing.

As far as the powerplant goes they make more power (79) than the SVs (72.5) according to published spec sheets (whos bullshitting here?) but any real advantage is offset by the overall weight of the machine.

It will be interesting to see if Jay can get one of these bikes to be as competitive as an SV.

I see no problem with Jay riding one in protwins. It seems to be pretty much the same as when Karl Morgan rode and dominated on the Clee prepped SV650. Karl was making a comeback from illness.

Whats dissapointing about Protwin so far is it has been a class thats been dominated by one rider each year as hasn't attracted the numbers or close racing that one might have expected.

Jay if you need some fairings made I'm pretty sure GJH fibreglass here in PN has the moulds from when Tahana Parker raced and got all the bodywork moulded.

Good luck Jay it will be interesting!
Yip tend to agree, - Now if i could only find out where i left my battery charger......

Mate go for it! That's cheaper than some bucket racers around!!

Start having fun again, or do what I did and buy a older 600, they still go really well in a winter series!!

The bike should be close to on the boil, I hope!

It's due to arrive in around about a month so I will get a look at it then. Yes - this is going to be the new EFI model. I am certainly intending to give the pro-twins class a good nudge but I am not limiting my intentions only to that. I have said before I wish there was more track time at the nationals meetings - this is a great way to get that! We have a few more things to finalise before the championship, but I can't wait to get on the bikes.

Thanks to the support out there in KB land, cheers also to the doubters, its all the more incentive!

    See you at the track,
    Jay

Go Jay - Best thing to happen to the class since its inception and just what it needed. All those 600ss riders who think they're too good for PTs can now have a rethink.

I think the Ducati 750 SS is eligible - it's only 2 valves per cyl and is air cooled so they allow the extra 100cc....but I could be wrong.
