Not likely as they are not sold in nz *to my knowledge*, they need to be imported from aussie and cost around 800-900 dollars australian. I enquired as to getting one, but until they arrive here and can be tried on before purchase there is too much risk.

Nice idea. Most idiots think the thing will inflate if you get off the bike and forget to unhook, it take a fair bit of force to activate...the kind of force encountered when you get flung off haha.

I like em, you get them in a cool range. The neck brace bit is a good idea.

Still, if you hit something hard enough, nothing will save you.

I have a jacket a bit like that, inflates big and tight.

Cept it does not inflate on impact, only with a pull cord or automatically when wet...ie riding into a deep river or falling of a boat....on second thoughts, maybe its not for bikes (Hutchwilco)

Surely this must be a 'racers only' gimmick.

If they work and save lives, then it can't be a bad idea. Would save a few collar bones for sure.

Not exactly a sexy body hugger though!

With this kind of system around, why are most people so anti wearing a camelbak or other kind of pack on their backs?

Because if you land on it, you'll probably do damage to your spine or neck. Think about it.
