A huge thankyou to all those who offered help, advice, tools, a push (Hayden), a safe place to store bike (Tom & Chris) a new chain (Balclutha Suzuki), Brent for working on the bike, (Kerry for her tolerance!), Brent 51 for the pillion home and all others for a general pick me up! Despite chain saga, still had a great weekend away Time will tell on getting things fixed!!! Cheers to all Jenny

Sorry I felt to seedy to do much thinking on sunday. Two friends are taking a load down to dunedin and coming back to chch empty at the moment, could kick myself , He would have done it for free as a favour and put your bike in the back . free slap round the ears when you see me next.
Anyway 1000km from a dealer service, someone never tightened up axle nut enough after adjusting the chain , causing the adjusting blocks to take the load and fail big time, then ya chain as well. Your lucky you didn't get tossed down the road . dig ya heels in jenny , they should fix it.

Dang annoying to find it missing and have a feeling that frost might have had something to do with it.
    thanks RQ

I was talking to someone about having to hot glue the clasps shut on the pins to stop them opening. The ones that have the pin (the type on the penguin badge) that comes straight out the back of the badge are the worst for falling off.

Shrek gave me a good tip for those though. Once you have the badge where you want it, bend the clippy bits out flat and they stay on much better.

Still it shouldn't have happened. One would have expected the chain to be all rusty and dry if it hadn't been regularly oiled so I would still try to get the bike fixed under warrantee and dont take no for an answer.

And I think it was 1billyboy that had the Amaretto from the Mediterranean store on Tuam St, I just got my first bottle and I think Im in love. Its SOOOO NICE. Have the day off tomorrow so I'll see how it goes down tonight.

Forgot to mention that the ride down was awesome, the rally was awesome, the roads awesome, the people awesome and the weather was also awesome.

Will definitely be doing this one again.

Big thanks to Scumdog for letting me crash on the floor and also to Chriss (please excuse the spelling) for the dinner.

Wont drink Jager again for a while but Im glad I didnt make too big a fool of myself and everyone took my antics light heartedly (even if Im still not sure that I didnt sleep though the night).

See you all at the Magpie.

Yep, great rally, a shame CB and I didn't spend the whole time there - that wedding ate into our party-time a bit much but at least the next day I was healthier than I have been on some rally Sundays!

Friday night itself was good value (although had to head of early to bed).
Although I was woken with a certain guest getting lost in Chez Scumdog! (Never realised my place was THAT big)

Right, now at work we have a Honda side-box, scratched but intact and still locked - if you know anybody that's lost one PM me eh?
