Your dead right there Laxi-
I have had EVERY major player in town except Boyles make a blue on one of my bikes over the years
WMCC have had some bloopers but they all have
I still got to TSS despite a few hiccups - it was a bad day, so what they made it right later and as old Alan himself used to say
"Its the PUTTING RIGHT that counts"![]()
Just ride.
a mate recomended 1 of the hutt shops to me (not going to mention the name) used them 2 times, 1st time they fn raped me $700 to clean my carbs, then forgot to tighten a clamp on the water hose, freakn leaked all over my leg at some lights 2 days later! mate said give em another chance so went to get a warrant from same shop, failed on 13 items ( funny 1 was he didn't turn the ignition on to check indicators) took bike to vtnz, new chain, lube brake & clutch levers, rewire horn, and got a new warrant
I try to do as much as possible myself where I can.
A) Because my Beast is 22 years old, is very rare over here and it takes a while to get parts, so I research as much as possible about the job that needs doing ahead of time.
B) Dutch blood - automatically tight with my monies.
C) Love tinkering with all things mechanical - Pity I didnt work that out before I had set myself up in the IT industry.
D) Still trying to find a shop that I feel real confidence in, so far quite impressed with motomart.
I had an issuewith them on my 600 man over a front tire refit - they left speedo cble wound around the fork and it tore itself out f the housing as I left the driveway- my bitch was having to get MTA involved before the workshop manager would replace the cable
I stopped worrying about it as a rule (which shop I mean) - they all make bloopers
Gonna give Boyles my next Jap sevice job - brothers been goin there for 10 years and no issue ever with service or follow through
ST getting valves and belts today- watch this space for an after action report
Just ride.
Yeah, must admit all I have dealt with them on so far is parts, they just fitted a new Conti rear tyre for me a couple of weeks ago, but being shaft drive and Drum brake I did the full dissasembly myself and just delivered them a wheel to fit a tyre on.
Have my Bike 80% reassembled at the moment after doing My 16 Valve Clearance check and adjusments - now awaiting a new Air Filter Element from the UK before finishing assembly.
I've been having Boyles do the work on my bikes..... Had a great run with them so far, they can be a bit slow at times but they always do a good job at a good price for me to date.![]()
