    Bought the ChCh FXR150 bike. Negotiated to $2400. I'm happy with that for a 2003 model with low mileage.

    Good on you Damien, now you have a decent basis to start with. You will be up and racing in no time.

    Buying a bargain and getting it race ready, how long would that have taken? forever probably!

    Hi Max. Yes, it is the lastest FXR . Never been dropped (soon fix that! - I went down in the wet last Saturday on my first time back to the track in decades ). My bro' in Kaipoi (near ChCh) is collecting the bike for me. I will fly down on Thursday night and ride it back over the weekend (I have a long weekend booked including Friday and Monday off). Funny, I've always ridden faster bikes but I'm quite excited about this new little racer. The long ride home will be a mini adventure and a photo opportunity.

    I'll also want a few photos of me on the new bike so I hope to find someone to work the camera If I set it all up for them. My brother will likely be there on the practice day so I just need someone for race day. That reminds me - I must get a racing license (I'm already a club member).

    Sounds like a good plan, hope the weather is kind to you. A few of us are racing at Roys' Hill in Hastings on the Sunday, if you are 'in the area' you should come for a looksie. It's a very cool little track, you'll be wanting to go back when she's all in race trim too...

    well I dont have the faster 125 anymore

    so it's time for the 50 has a good 30% more HP than the other 50's of team E.S.E (and slicks)

    Sounds like it is worth a visit. Maybe when I'm ready to race. I'm keen to try other tracks.

    I've just looked at the map. I didn't realise that it is virtually on my way home! Guess what I've been thinking....... With some wire and duct tape and a day MNZ license at the track, I could even have a go!???? I could drill the drain plug at my brother's place before leaving Kaipoi. How cool would that be? Racing on my way home? My first road race in 2.5+ decades? Thanks for the suggestion "Unstable".

    That's the spirit! There will be plenty of tools and what have you around. They do like the bikes to be 'nyloned' though, so might pay to check with the organizer to avoid disappointment.

    they dont mind if its alloy, there's always some spare nylon at the track so dont worry about that,

    il bring some nylon and spare machined footpeg brackets for your bike {the stock ones instandtly break when you crash}

    see you there!
