Yip it was great. only 15 I think this year, a bit down on the 22 last year.
The main difference was the juniors on Streetstock stayed home. We have a lot of new ones this year, not quite ready for the cost and committment of the "big trip". Plus, we have a very full calendar of the next 6 months (nearly every weekend!) and I'm keen to make sure they keep their attendance up "at home"
But I think the ones that came up did a fine job. John Ross and Dennis Charlett were there to set up and not far behid the 2 young bucks at the front in 600's. Cam Jones had a pleasing debut on the 600 with a fine 12th qual and 10th first race. (Did I see a very proud "uncle Shaun"?) More was to come but alas tech probs put him out for the rest of the weekend. Then Jimmy Smith impressed on the S Bike. Al Hoogie dominated 125GP as did James in Steetstock. Matthew a fine SS ride too. The Brouard dad and boy team, well done. And Swerve with team, finding their way but fine presentation and overall effort.
And a BIG thanks to the locals, Vic Club helpers for great support, hospitality and use of the Scutineering Shed. It makes a BIG diffrence.
Thanks again from us all
Peter - You forgot about Kirk Pritchard ridding in F3 on his new bike. Not many guys can adapt that fast to a bigger bike coming from a RS125. Good work i say.

Hey lets not forget another YOUNG TALENT who is slipping in under the radar(or maybe thats the plan) Ryan Hampton.
He keeps himself to himself and seems quiet but he is producing some good results 1:11 at manfield i believe (thats impressive)
Once again MotoX talent shining on the track...and good to see a dealer (i know its his dad) getting involved too.
Well done Ryan....have been watchin you since start of Levels winter series...... he is gonna bite some established/fast ass very SOON.![]()
Yep, I had a wee chat with young Mr Hampton, nice bloke and had a great attitude to the weekend. He didn't try to set the world on fire in the first session, he just went quicker and quicker every time he went out. The bike looked and sounded great too. We'll be seeing more of him I reckon.
Yep, sorry Kirk and Ryan.
I guess us South Islanders have so much (routine) success it's easy to overlook a bit.... Yes, well done Ryan on the big thou. As for Kirk, well he could be overlooked as he was pitting with the dark side, so for a day or two he was 50% North Islander. But I'm really looking forward to KOR tomorrow where I hope he'll be. Plenty of peple have never heard an Ozzy 450 and I'm sure they'll love it.
Its a shame but dont think we will get to witness the "ozzy 450" at ruapuna till Rd3.
As far as i know kirk is not doin Rd 1 &2. doin Burt Munroe & Rd3 as well as SMCC summer series.
Isnt it great too see the young talent out there eh Pete.
Gotta sneak a sly grin when you know you had a big part in it all eh
Gonna be some great racin this summer with all that "young /no fear" (dont ya hate them) talent on our tracks.
See ya Sunday
