Does anyone still know what the story is with the network/networks, have they solved the issues, cause it is bloody fustrating when your work relies on you receiving information in a timly manner!!.

All public APNs are monitored as well
There is not much difference between direct.vodafone.net.nz and www.vodafone.net.nz APN now

A train station is where the train stops. A bus station is where the bus stops. At work I have a work station....
Had too many issues syncing exchange server emails over www, and switched to web, until you ran out of IP addresses
Support was onto it that time tho, and gave me direct.

Ah yes I have read this thread
It appears that the original subject is on the delays of txt messages on the Vodafone network and how it is effecting a group of users.
For some reason the thread has gone onto DLS time, and other stuff.
I am simply after a update to the current problem, but it now appears that it is now fixed.

Well NZ is the only country I've been to where this has been a problem? The text delays thing isn't a one-off. I got so farked off with coverage being worse than ever that I rung up Vodafone to see if something could be done. I got charged a $1 for the privalege of telling them their network wasn't up to scratch. I then got told it was being escalated. I asked for a case number but was told I could ring back and just tell them my mobile number (obviously paying another $1). I haven't heard anything. The reception here is just as $hit.
Vodafone customer service is quite frankly appalling. As much as it pains me to say it, Telescum have came on leaps and bounds over the last couple of years whereas Vodyphoney seem to have gotten worse.

I have no problems getting TXTs to and from other Vodafone users. I have about 500 phone numbers in my contacts lists, and the vast majority are Vodafone users. I don't know what it is like getting TXTs from the Telecom network.
I also have no problems getting TXTs from overseas contacts (mostly Australia and the UK).
I used Vodafone's 3G service quite a lot as well. It works good where I live, but I live in a built up area. It can be a bit patchy in some places - but I accept that being a mobile data service it's not going to be perfect everywhere.
I do find their new 900Mhz network worse than the older 2100Mhz network. I don't understand why, but I make sure not to use any of the newer hardware (as that hardware will also use the 900Mhz signal - even if the signal is worse than the 2100Mhz signal - hope they change that sometime).
I use my Vodafone mobile heavily for voice at work. I rarely suffer dropped calls or have any issues with call quality.
There are going to be places in NZ where Telecom has better coverage, and others where Vodafone is better.
But for my money, Vodafone offers a good service that I find reliable, and I'd happily recommend them to others as a result.
Not quite cowboy. Watches don't have microprocessors of the same capability of your average cellphone. Incidentally my cellphone (Motorola K3) has decided that NZ DST started last night so has put the time forward another hour with an onscreen meassage alluding to Vodafone![]()
And the phone was supplied by Vodafone as a replacement under PhoneInsure so I would assume it had current programming installed but I have no intentions to pursue the matter via #777 and spend another 30+ minutes trying to communicate with people speaking Chinglish![]()
Erm..... Do you work for VooDooFone then ?
If you don't then you should!
Surely the TXT problem is purely down to bottlenecks cause by lack of capacity buring busy times?
If I remeber rightly, they have ran out of Datacentre space and need more to house more kit.
Vodafone NZ is quite a flagship for the rest of the world and is the most profitable contributor (per capita) putting in over 1% (pretty impressive). Even the Aussies look up to VF-NZ (even more impressive).
