    Question

Is there any chance the racing will be cancelled if it carries on raining like this?
I'll still show up in the morning - I'm commited! (or should be...)

The AMCC do have concerns in wet meetings when the water pools between in the dip prior to Ford Mountain and we were asked at a meeting last year in a riders meeting if we (riders) wanted to continue racing.

The MNZ rep there wanted to can the meeting but they carried on.

I would say there is a good chance that the meeting will be called off if the rain thats forecast for tomorrow arrives because it looks on some forecasts like a real down pour is due.

The meeting will, I guess, only be called off once we're all there and as its NZ i suppose you can never exclude sunshine and a dry race....
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

Forcast says more of this all night, rain tuning to occasional showers in the afternoon.

If there is standing water on the circuit in the morning there aint going to be any qualifying which means no racing surely!!

Stll turning up with my fingers crossed though

It certainly looks like it is going to pour... hope not, and Pukie can be an interesting track, sometimes differing from its surroundings weather wise.

It will probably start, but if conditions get too bad, they'll keep an eye on it. Sections of the track can end up with a lot of standing water, and then the racers seem to want to have a break and chat Castrol is a popular place for them to hangout

    Doesn't look flash outside.
I might venture out around lunch time.

Yep did qualifying and one F3 and one F1/2 race and they pulled the pin due to too much surface water - stink!
I'd managed to stick it on Pole for Posties Jnr too (think they were having timekeeping issues) - Oh well, next time eh?

You guys must be completely insane to try racing in weather like this.

I'll ride in torrential rain but only if I have to - and certainly not at race pace.

Got there nice and early and set up in the dry, started thinking 'in aint going to rain' then..........! I've seen it wetter except I was off the No 4 bouy fishing at the time!!!!
Qualified ok, 5th I think not bad for a rowing boat with iffy road tyres on, was getting more wheel spin than grip and was hitting the limiter down the back straight in top (only through the puddles ). The pin was pulled before my race so a very wet pack up and splash home.

I have secured all further AMCC rounds as dry days, Ive ordered a set of wheels from America and will stick some wets on them, It won't rain anymore

Hi does anyone know if we will get a refund for our entry today or will the next round be free or discounted heavily?

This was to be my first race ever today, shit I was scared, couldn't see a thing and seen a few flies over taking me, didn't realise I had put on so much weight since the last time I wore my wet weather gear!
If someone passes you he is a nutter and you expect to pick him off the blacktop round the next corner, if you pass someone they are a slow and have all the gear and no idea

It was freakin' wet out there today, but, hey, I finished 4th in the Formula Auckland race - so pretty happy with that!
I do feel sorry for aall the guys (& girls) who came out today and didn't get a chance to race. But the puddles were growing visibly throughout the last race so there was only really one way the day was going to end.
I too, have invested in spare rims & wets so it will be dry for the rest of the season!

Yeah the puddles were getting pretty deep. It was right to call the meeting, otherwise crazies like me would have still raced on sport road tyres - and they are much worse than having wets.

Even the guys we picked up with proper wets were complaining it was too slippery.

Hey Gremlin, thanks to you and all the marshalls for being out there on such a sh*ty day. Don't envy you guys having to be out there in it all day.
