Animated Avatars

I am trying to update my avatar graphic however I keep getting an error when the graphic is animated. The file size is 8 Kb and dimensions are 50x50. I also tried linking to a site however I seem to get a similar error of:

"You may not upload animated images."

Does the Avatar feature support animated images? I see other users have one in their profile so maybe I am missing something obvious as the error does not seem to have anything to do with the animated graphic size etc.

so did some random surfn thru the site and whatdoyaknow...

was pointless cos i aint got enough

Animated avatars should work OK, until 10 people with time on their hands award you a Flame Warrior.

haha, still a bit dark bout that are we? Cant you just wait till the flame warrior expires for your avatar to come back?

also, looky at my animated avatar (gotta be a senior member i think, 6 moths and heapsa posts), isnt it wonderful
