Pain in the arse Little River Gas was shut when we rolled in. Glad I didnt go any further cos I only just made it to the Challenge in Halswell. 17lt tank and I got 16.68lt into it at the gas station . Travelled a total of 63km on reserve which was well past my comfort zone, though at least I had Ollie on his CBR behind me all the way which was reassuring if the duck did stop.

Next time I'll fill the sucker before leaving town

Its a bugger riding a big bike fast, they suck the gas. Several of us need to start our aka gp with a full tank in chch but cant make it back to town without a fill up and its only a 170km round trip......
we dont ride like that on group rides tho eh.....

The front felt a bit light through Gebbies which should have been a heads up I was going to have a problem, but I just didnt think about it till the yellow idiot light was blinking in my face. Glad I didnt have to push it in the end, its damn heavy.

Next week I'll sort my shit out.

Well I done extremely well on my wee 250. Had a full tank, done 80 odd km and checked this morning before riding and I still almost had a full tank! Way to go the wee Saki!! Petrol is going to be great for me!!

All for keeping the motorcycle world going, but I personally would never pillon a child that wasnt my own. 2 reasons, 1 they are not likely to have safety gear that fits them properly unless they come from a motorcycling family (in that case there own parent can take them) and 2 I would never be the same if I was to crash with someone elses child on the back, let alone face that childs parent.

All for having children along though, and all the ones I have seen have proper gear on, so lets keep it that way!

I agree, I have friends daughter who is dying to get on Brents Bike and mine, but no way. I couldn't live with myself if something happened.

You did very well girl. First decent ride on YOUR bike ...

At the rate my beast slurps it up .... wanna swap ??? (just joking)

My thanks to all those involved in the organisation of the ride. Well done.

To all my old friends, it was good to meet up again. To my younger friends (this includes you Helen) its always a pleasure.

To my new friends ... thank you. A brilliant evening.

As I'm not on my own computer ... will put up some pic's when I can.

Most teanagers take adult sized gear. Or at least your partners gear will be very close. Do you take kids in a car? What about in a boat? Who felt like they were in any danger of crashing on the ride? Lets not get into a fit of hysteria over a very safe and enjoyable fun time. If you are not comfortable riding 2 up dont do it. Personally i have done so many 2 up miles it is now great fun. I used to take Ashlea to kindy on my FZR1000exup when she was 4. Always had the proper gear for her and it was not expencive because as she out grew it I sold it and brought her new stuff. Just ride safe steady relaxed and alert. Watch extra hard for the crazys and love your life.

Lol in our case my partners gear is what she is wearing, and in Liv's I guess its what Tris is wearing so no spare gear there. I note yau said you always had the proper gear for for yours, which the lack of is what others have stated as one of the reasons they don't want to take kids.

Cars are a large steel shield and car seat are a legal requirement, as are life jackets on boats.

I don't see anyone getting into hysterical reaction's here just stating their personal opinions, I am adverse to taking a child who is not any relative and as I have no kids then its not likely to happen, although I pillioned a few at a recent charity even in a small and semi confined area so I felt safe where as on the public roads with all the mad drivers out there
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

It don't have to be as regular as the weds night meetings but just in a blue moon kind way would be cool.
It be a nicer way to meet more KB'rs other than forking over money to a certain bike shop owner not that I mind, the service is always top notch:
I don't do the Wednesday rides cos I'm not into big group rides. I have every Friday off tho, so if you fancy a spin, pm me.
